See here is where I disagree a bit coloradodriver, all due respect. Here's how I see it, an easy deal is the goal. In my case I could buy tomorrow or I could wait 3 months I do not need the vehicle, is a replacement vehicle for my wife and she has a Montero sport at the moment that we are trying to sell. The thing is with thread lightly we, the buyer, get 1% below invoice. Sounds great but then the dealer is getting an additional 2% for them on top of whatever they are already making on their holdback. If my math is correctly, the dealer is still wining here. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I agree with you that if simply and hassle free is the objective then if course affiliate program is a slam dunk. If time is no issue and emailing time or maybe a few hours here and there is all that's required then why not.

Maybe we gain more by doing this in vetting a relationship establish for the future. Who knows, now I'm daydreaming. Been awake all night working, may need to sleep.

I agree-which is why I'm willing to drive 4 hours south to the DC Group buy knowing the price and no BS, haggling or upswell involved.

But for me, it's all about the money (had my first born 15 months ago!) because if it isn't an issue, we'd all be paying MSRP like with retail clothing and the likes.

If buying a car was like all other retail establishments where we pay what the price tag says, we wouldn't have this discussion...but we are the informed consumer so we know enough that we do not want to pay more than what it costs the dealer which is just "fair" if you think about it.

For me? It's not really either. It's about putting all my effort into everything I do. In buying a car, the only "effort" is in getting the best deal you can. So that's where I devote my energy (within limits - I'm not going to scam anyone or go to extreme lengths or anything).

It's also that I can't stand getting taken advantage of. I'd rather pay more to someone honest than pay less to someone sleazy.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Just want to post about my fresh ownership experience. Picked up my Overland yesterday. Been driving around to friends and family showing it off. Everyone thinks it's amazing, even my son, who is an even more critical nit-picker than I am. Looked it over as closely as I could when I picked it up, I saw none of the fit and finish problems mentioned here, such as hatch fit, etc. After driving a Buick Enclave for 5 1/2 years the GC with the V6 feels like a sports car to me, even in eco mode. Sport mode makes it feel like a rocket. It is a little noisier than my Buick, but not much. For those of you dismayed by experiences with dealers, I feel bad. Gary Miller CJD in Erie, PA has been great to me. Used Affiliate invoice minus 1% and $500 rewards card, and got what I wanted for my trade. I suppose I could have haggled for a couple more bucks, but I just don't roll that way. They gave me 3 years of oil changes and a full tank of gas. They also matched the lowest price I brought to them on a Max Care Lifetime warranty. Everyone there was pleasant and friendly to deal with. I'd post pictures, but its been raining, and I'll need to clean it up for that. Tomorrow I'll be putting Michelin LTX M/S2 tires on it. The only glitch so far is Uconnect phone pairing. I don't lose the pairing as some have, but it doesn't connect automatically when I restart the car. Could be a number of things as my phone is an ancient Samsung flip phone. I'll have to work on that.
I would be remiss if I didn't give huge thanks to everyone at JNAP, Milous, Chevy and all the unsung heroes on the line for building a great product, and for all the information they've made available here to make our purchase experience fun and productive. Lastly I want to say to the guys here still waiting for delivery, damn, it's worth the wait! I'm not leaving the forum, because everyone here is worth the time to share our experiences, but you may not hear from me a lot for a while, for the obvious reason that I'll be out tooling around in the most amazing vehicle I've ever owned, every chance I can.

Congratulations Jack. Glad to hear you are happy with the vehicle and all went smoothly.

Pictures in the rain would be nice!

3. Type of maintenance required to keep warranty valid (ie. am I allowed to perform oil changes/tire rotations/fuel filter changes?)

Does anyone know if they already have this engine linked together with the 8 speed tranny (land of Oz?).

Hey snofire,

Are you going to be able to sleep tonight?

If you take delivery tomorrow you'll get a chance to test it out in a snow/ice storm. We're getting brutal snow/ice/wind right now so you'll get it tonight/tomorrow. Happy spring!!!
