To get this thread back in topic. Good news in my hunting. One dealer email me back and the guy was emailing me and letting me know he was off but had some time to talk in the morning if I could get to it and to call him on his cell. I though, sure I'll bite.

So I call and asked him if he would match the offer sheet from Colorado springs group buy? He says I'll do you one better I'll beat it. I give you 5% on whatever jeep you want. I say now we talking. According to him they have over 100 MY14 in stock. Sounds promising, if everything turns out correct I may just deal with this guy/dealership. I guess now it comes down this Overland 4x4 with ORA2 on V6 or V8 ? Decisions, Decisions.

If you're gonna get a Jeep, get a Jeep. 4x4 and V8 if it were me.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

How many of you really go off road? I suggest don't get Off Road option, and get the 20" wheels. They look and ride way better than the 18s. 4x4 V8 all the way. That's the best Grand Cherokee Jeep makes especially if you add Quadra Drive II, in my opinion.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Whether or not you offroad, getting a 4x2 Jeep is resale suicide.

A 4x2 Jeep won't get anywhere near the value of a 4x4.

Now... offroad package or not is different.

If you don't plan to go anywhere you are going to encounter oil pan puncturing rocks or gnarly road conditions (where the EDiff would help), then I'd say skip it. Chances are, by the time it rolls around to trade in/sale, the OAR2 package won't matter all that much.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Hey, joined the JG recently, ordered a '14 Overland (Max Steel, 5.7L, Advanced Tech Group, ORA II and black interior) from Faricy Boys in CO Springs (group buy deal courtesy of JG - thanks guys!), got impatient, signed up for Level IV and got Milous to track my ride....

Well I have no sympathy with any of you waiting for the CRD or the SRT... my new wheels ain't due for delivery until 04/28/3013

This forum has been a terrific source of information and helped me get a sweet deal on a vehicle until recently I'd never really considered. Some great banter too. It's great to see such a quality product rolling off the assembly lines in the good old USofA.

Now the loooooong wait begins!

20" wheels handle far better but I like the ride of the 18"s a lot more... The roads around here are known for shattering the larger wheels, especially with low profile tires...

I do not want the 20" wheels. They ride rougher with more tire noise and are more costly to add winter tires.

Regarding ORA, it's true that it might not be that beneficial but if you get the tow package, ORAI is less than $400 more. It seems like a worthwhile thing to get for that price.

I am going with the 18". I am not buying a sports car this time. Extreme road performance is not the goal. I won't miss the "ping" from the rim when hitting a pot hole. One pot hole on I-95 in Massachusetts last summer ended a short life of one of my thin expensive tires.

I have been following tis forum for a while, and found the information to be very helpful with my selection. I plan to purchase the 2014 Limited (Diesel, LuxII, Nav, Tow) - As soon as they will let me place an order.

I did consider the 20" wheel upgrade, but figured it was merely for look and for me not worth it. I do not plan on off-roading, mostly highway and some city driving - is there a notable difference in ride/performance with going to the 20" rim? I do like the sound of a softer ride (quieter?) with the 18", but open for opinions on why the 20" might be a valued upgrade.

And hoping we can order the CRD soon!

Tons of discussion about this on the wheels and tires thread.
