My guess is... becouse they have so many issues with radio that the last thing they need right now is another headache.

Interesting point. I wonder how often they come out with these updates? Probably more frequently after a new technology roll out, then less frequently over time. It would be revealing to ask the dealer(s) when you are getting ready to purchase a new vehicle if this is something they do as part of routine maintenance whenever you bring your vehicle in. For tech/IT guys like libby and myself, when people are having problems the first thing we usually ask is if they have the latest version of software (that is after we ask if they have it plugged in...).

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

My Acura dealer and Chevy dealer always checked for and performed updates. In those cases I think when they put the vin in to create the service ticket the computer did it automatically.

That's a great deal, Sno. So far I've been offered $94 a tire. I'm still trying.

The first place I tried told me $100 per tire. Another one was $95.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Hi All:
On my drive in to work today, saw a pre-MY14 WK2 that looked stunning (to me anyway) and looked up the color and found it was the Mineral Gray Metallic. I'm wondering if the Billet Silver Metallic is the closest to the MGM color or is it something else. The more I wait until Labor Day, the more my color decisions get harder - first True Blue for sure, then Max Steel, and now potentially BSM!!!!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I agree that MGM looks good on the Jeeps - that was my plan for the 2014 SRT until the colors came out. (I'm in love with the Max Steel though, very happy with it).

BSM is lighter; much closer to Silver IMO than it is to MGM.

Granite Crystal Metallic is darker than MGM.

I would advise that you go to a dealership and look at the colors in person. I would also advise that you do it more than once; sunny day, cloudy day, night... The colors that Jeep put out really do change depending on conditions. They all have so much metallic fleck in them they catch light very differently.

Good luck!

Great Summary! Thanks!
So basically, from light to dark:
BrightSM-BilletSM-MGM-GCM-MaxSteelM
Max Steel it is, or TB, of BSM... LOL
Funny how MGM is dead center on this 5 color silver to dark silver scale.

The BSM literally caught my eye this morning passing me on the right - I guess I haven't seen much of them up in North-Central NJ! I swear I'll end up with a White and beige.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Yup, I agree with your scale...although I don't consider the Max Steel to be a gray/silver, replace it with the Charcoal from 2011

HA!

I put my Latitudes in the classified section of our local newspaper for $100 ea. I had three calls by 9 A.M. the first morning the ad ran. They were out of my garage by 10:30. Looking back, I probably should have asked more, but basically, I just wanted to be rid of them.

You can go to the Uconnect website and put your own vin in to check for updates also if you like!
