I agree. If the color hadn't been granite (not black, more like charcoal black), I would have taken the car with a 100K bumper to bumper warranty.

As it is, the white will be ok - I would have rather had a medium gray but Jeep execs are in love with 50 shades of black.

Where did you get that from, Sno? Last I checked FFP was still the same 1% as AP. Employee EP pricing is closer to 5% but they are very strict about having to be pretty close to immediate family to get that.

Second, a car that has been in Final Inspection for a month and a half is a car with problems. I'm hesitant to spend $50 K for a car that it took them 6 weeks (and counting) to fix.

Lastly, the dealer was very glad to order a new one and said there would be no problem selling the original car when it comes in.
On your second point, I think a lot of folks get the wrong impression with inspection. I am positive they have NOT been working on the Jeep for six weeks. They probably found something minor wrong with it, like a wheel flare that is missing two sided tape or a bulb burned out... Then there is probably only a few folks working in the repair department so if there is a few hundred (or even a thousand vehicles with a minor problem). It can take days, weeks or even months to get through the backlog to fix a few hour problem on yours.

I'm sorry, I was wrong in the 3%. I just looked at my sheet from Field's when I ordered the Overland.

Stock Overland 4x4 is $44,758. FFP is $44,385. EP is $42,595

I think that is about 1%

I've said this exact thing several times.. But ppl don't listen/read, so I just quit restating it, and let em think whatever they want.. You'll see.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I know it is torture waiting for the GC when its in Inspection but I wish my 2014 Summit spent some time in inspection (well it did have a Quality Assurance Test, which is a joke, performed which included them joy riding in it for 29 miles) and I still received it with a liftgate misaligned, (had to have a body shop realign), an off center steering wheel, some paint inperfections, a liftgate that requires 4 clicks to open with FOB and a few other things.

But if they do inspections anything like the Quality Assurance Team, then I don't blame some folks for reordering and hopefully you will get a good one like some others on this board.

Right. Bulb burned out - that's probably it. Or some missing tape - six weeks (and counting) to replace some tape or a bulb.

I'm feeling better about it now.

My buddy just had to return his week old Summit to the dealer to fix his tailgate - the radio quit working too.

Inspection doesn't mean anything is necessarily "broken" or "out of wack".

It can mean a part is missing (like your carpeting, Radio, Rims, etc...) and they were able to advance your build while they wait for the missing part.

That said, I feel for ya man.

Once I can actually order mine (we're only 5 months behind when you all could order after all) I'll probably be all twitchy and waiting for my new rig to get to me (though, I know for a fact that after I place my order, I have 2-2.5 months to wait if all the cards line up just right).

You know I'm curious - do you have ANYTHING positive to say about your Jeep? I understand you're upset with your purchase, and I think its safe to assume you'll never buy another one, but what's with the constant bashing?

I mean seriously, I think everyone on this board knows that your tailgate was off and you had to have it fixed, and so on.. But why do you feel it's acceptable to relay your dissatisfaction in such a disrespectful way? Do you know for a fact that your car was merely driven around for 29 miles? Do you know ANYTHING about the quality team, and what they were tasked with doing with the first batch of cars we built. (One of which being yours.) You assume a lot and feel justified in your rants bc you spent money. Which is fine. Whatever. But the manner in which you choose to rant borders on disrespect, and I'm beginning to think you're one of the voters in my poll who thinks we should all be fired... But why? Don't you realize you're in the minority of unhappy buyers? Like I said, I understand your issues may piss you off, but to bash the whole plant like you consistently do, when MOST consumers don't feel like you do, kinda implies you having another issue with us. Which is fine. Such is life. But don't act as though quality is a joke, and the wheels can fall off at any point, bc for every BobsWK2, there are 10 JeeperJohn's. And although that one bad apple does count, it actually says the opposite about quality than you keep implying..
