You were 100% correct!!! It amazes me how some people don't understand. It seems some people think my Jeep has been in inspection for six weeks, so that means they are working on it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for six weeks. Probably more than one person working on it as well. I can understand wanting your Jeep and having a hard time waiting for it. I saw a Summit that had the A pillar of an overland rather than the summit. Not a huge deal but I am sure it could take weeks for them to get the correct part in and I can see the backlog being an issue pretty easily. Mine had a couple very minor issues and the dealer is supposed to fix them on Wednesday. Neither one requiring parts being ordered...but easily a couple hours of work.

I always like reading what you have to say and I want to Thank you and the guys at Jeep for doing a great job! I also appreciate all the input...some take it for granted but I truly appreciate the insight.

I am excited to hear the attention to detail that vehicles with even minor problems don't leave the plant until the minor problems are fixed. I would guess if there are thousands of them sitting there I hope they would move some of the people from production to correction. In my industry if we made that many errors many people would be fired. Hearing a story of someone's vehicle being in inspection for that long is disgusting. There should be a new foreman like Chef Ramsey because when things are a big cluster....Shut It Down... In any case, picking up my Overland on Thursday and soon excited to know everything was previously inspected at 100%

If they run out of a part, they should shut the plant down? I would say over 99% of the Jeeps have no issues at all but if they catch something wrong, fix it before they ship it. Granted, they're still are not going to be 100% perfect on all 100% of the Jeeps. But they are doing a great job putting out an awesome vehicle.

I think you're going to love your Jeep. I had my last Jeep for over 9 years and sold it with 168,000 miles on it. Replaced with 14 JGC Summit and I truly love it! I can see going over 200k miles with this baby.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Just to throw a little fair and balanced in here, my JGC just hit 600 miles, and absolutely NO issues so far. I know that's not a lot of road time, but the way it came to me from the line is making me very freakin' happy!!

In this country we celebrate freedom of speech.

You have taken negative comments in a personal manner before, which - to quote you - is fine because you have a biased point of view. Jeeps are what you make - they are a product of your work (directly or indirectly), whether with love or passion or just a paycheck or most likely both, you are biased by the very nature of your employment. Which - to quote you - is fine.

But people are allowed to voice their discontent on this boards, just as I have in the past, just as others have. And I think for 40,000 ANYONE has the right to a properly aligned steering wheel and/or rear gate and a tight (battery) ground terminal. It is basic hardware stuff - it is not only about knowing how much to tighten screws but really... Far less expensive cars come with these elements properly done, and expectations do go up linearly with price(s) paid. You might overlook a dead pixel in a corner on a Vizio but you don't wanna see one on your out-of-the-box Samsung LED.

You don't have to respond but I know you will.

good night.

Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom to harass. That's what Bob is doing.

I don't know if I'd call it harassing, but it does border on whining.

Ummm.. Where did I say the guy couldn't speak his mind? Furthermore, if you want to talk straight, I've been far more critical of Chrysler than any of you probably will ever know. I have no bias. Otherwise my name wouldn't be Chevyboy on a Jeep site. I'm a Chevy man. Always will be. But I do happen to like my job, and feel that we're doing a good job to put out a quality product. But I've NEVER said things were perfect. And as far as I can see, they never will be. It's an imperfect world. Perfection just doesn't fit in any capacity when dealing with humans. So I have ZERO issue with people voicing their concerns! But as a trade off for all that I go out of my way to offer here, I just ask that ppl do it in a respectful manner.

You wanna hear we screw up sometimes? Fine.. I'll say it. We screw up sometimes. Some sh!t that gets out is terribly unacceptable. But what you and some others fail to realize is that this model got its reputation being built in this very same plant, by much of the same ppl since '92. So for anyone to imply that we're unfit and should be fired, is to say that the past 2 decades of success didn't happen.

I don't know what your little issue is with me, and to be honest I really couldn't care less. I said something one day that you obviously didn't like, you misinterpreted it, and never asked for clarification, we had a disagreement, and haven't "got along" since. Big deal. It's the Internet. But just like Bob has the right to freedom of speech, so do I. I was born here too sir. And I know the 'American' way. But if I ever need a lesson on constitutional amendments, I'll be sure to shoot you a pm.

What I said to Bob wasnt in disrespect, and I'm sure he won't read it that way. I just wanted him to know that it's offensive to express himself the way he has, without all the facts. And to have owned Jeeps in the past, I'm sincerely curious if he likes anything about this one.. But - what does any of this have to do with you? Do you know Bob was one of the first to pm me asking about Jeeps and the plant when I joined this site? He and I don't have the same issues that you have with me. But as for you, you've had a bone-to-pick since you got here. And I've seen your silly posts in other threads trying to provoke a response. Sadly, I don't have time for it. I'm too busy building Jeeps and living life.. So - you can buy a Jeep or not buy one. But what you aren't going to do is paint me as the problem, when the majority of ppl here know different..

Sounds like some of these guys need to go buy a BMW or Mercedes and leave us Jeep guys alone...

Chevy keep up the hard work -- most of us have nothing but respect for you guys.

I just rolled over 1200 miles and NO issues, well, other than the loose bracket (no big deal). More ticked about it getting hail damage than I was of that little annoyance. Luckily the PDR tech got all the dings out and we are good as new!!! Loving it more every day I pull it out of the garage and head off into the sunrise and back home again at sunset.

SnoFire, your due for some good luck. Hope you get your ride today!!!

Smeh.

I work in software, if everything ever done, had to be 100% right every time, we'd still be working on "Fire" and "The Wheel".

I can understand being PO'd about issues on your new car, but I don't really blame the guys on the line or the QA system. Shit happens and there will always be a fail rate. It just sucks ass when it happens to you. Just be happy it can all be fixed and done so in a reasonable amount of time.

Thanks Tom, I'm hoping as well it comes in today (which it should). Glad to hear that they got the hail damage out and it still makes you smile daily, that is what it is about. I think some of us need to take a step back, take a deep breathe, admire what they have, and drive. Things could be a lot worse.
