How about you slip one of those new fangled diesels into a GC and send it my way. I won't tell anyone...really....Scouts honor. Oh, and you can even put a sun roof in it.

As the lil' third of the Big3, unfortunately we're still using outdated processes.

Seriously though man, I understand what you want, but we can not build the car that way until its offered that way. If the package is broken up, we'd have no problem building it however you want. And however the next guy wants. And so on.. But when consumers start dictating what they want and don't want, then the price of each 'feature' gets driven up, because instead of being able to order xxx,xxx number of sunroofs a year, we end with less, which hurts negotiating power with suppliers..

I'm sure you know that stuff is so cheap at Walmart, not just bc it comes from undeveloped countries.. But bc they buy so much. Quantity affects price. Buy less, pay more.

Like I said, more people prefer HAVING a sunroof than not.. Many never use it and keep the shade closed. But third-party studies have showed its popularity, and that's why it's overused these days.
I don't have a problem with the guys on the line. I have a problem with Chrysler/Jeep who will not allow me to order the LUX II without a sunroof. I am wiling to pay Jeep the $1000 they want for the sunroof, so they can order the xx,xxx sun roofs they need to keep the price down. Just give me the option of saying, "keep it. I don't want it.

Go to the Audi web site. There is a code for "delete sunroof". You don't get a refund ( I am not asking for one), but you do get to eliminate the sunroof to get the extra headroom.

I wonder if a good body shop can take it out and close the roof?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

SE, I understand you don't want it, but just out of curiosity, what's the problem with just keeping the shade closed?

Worse case scenario, order a new headliner (without the sunroof cutout), and never hand wash the top of the Jeep.. Eventually you'll forget it's there. ... That way, whenever you decide to sell it, you can swap the original headliner back in it, and get more out of it on resale.

I would really appreciate it.
And *this* is why it's a good thing there are designers who figure out what are good color combinations and orderable together. Blood orange + saddle would be absolutely atrocious.

The problem is the loss of headroom with the sunroof.

Curious how a sunroof loses headroom? You would think it gives more headroom - extra inch or 2 when shade is open up to glass? Surprised 6'1" guy has headroom problem, must be tougher on guys 6'5"

I (6'1 guy) was saying I DON'T have any issues, and anyone who does has to be significantly taller than me. At least 6'5..
