Yes no wars here either... I always enjoy the conversation... sometimes my opinion is different but I like to hear other people's views, that is what makes this place interesting.

I do know they are low on Transmissions but they are also completely out of certain other things. I don't think the transmissions are the whole story, I am sure there is more detail to this delay.

I would never want to hold up an order confirmed ahead of mine so hopefully all things get caught up swiftly for everyone

Hugs all around (mobile app too but I know that symbol)

Haha, I knew you weren't trying to start a war, but wanted to protect us both from potential outsider warfare, lol.

1.) The "issue" is that the trans is used in damn near everything, and adding another model puts an even greater strain on the already limited supply. So what's GOING to happen (as in not yet happening), is SRT production will be slowed temporarily, and CRDs will basically use whatever supply is available for initial buildup. NOBODY's SRT order is being held up right now, that's ALREADY BEEN ACCEPTED AND IS IN PRE-RELEASE!!! We're still building em.. They're just cutting back building NEWER orders, bc there's probably a months worth of SRT orders left in the que, and CRD production SHOULD begin in about a month (give or take). So any new SRT orders may be held up, as in those placed within the past week or 2 for this.. They'll still accept the order, but it probably won't move for a while. Now - I'm not saying all SRT production will be halted, but it will be slowed. There are zero trannys just sitting around that will be used in a month, or whenever, that could be used for someone's SRT now. Bc fact of the matter is, an SRT order placed, say today, won't be processed and get on the production schedule until the CRD has already begun production anyway.

2.) There's no such thing as sold and unsold orders with this car. EVERY order is sold. Yes, that includes the ones on the lot. Those dealers bought em, and they know they can sell em. So lets get away from "priority" orders talk.. Just bc your order is going in your driveway, and the dealers order is going to the lot, you don't get "priority." A sale is a sale. HOWEVER, I'd venture to say the mighty hand of JeepGarage stretches pretty far, bc many of the orders placed by contributing members seem to be filled fairly quickly by OUR STANDARDS, and so I think you all really do owe Milous and Scott a big thank you when you take delivery. Cause you could've waited longer! Just ask Marlon about Milous pulling strings with his Dart order!

3.) Ummm - (what was I gonna say here ) ----- oh! Lastly, I'd say we'll hold em (CRDs) for about a month-and-a-half. I have my thoughts why, but none of which are proven as fact, so this is pure speculation.. Maybe one of the others have better intel on this.. But considering the new inside tech will be in some of them (ie rear screens), they'll probably want to make sure things are cool with those last few pilots we put out. Wouldn't want another Uconnect scenerio.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Chevy - "uconnect scenario"? Is this the production issue you alluded to a couple months back but didn't want to talk more about?

Edit: this is the post I'm referring to.

2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

So they are restricting srt orders to keep room for the crd when the 5.7s take up the majority of the transmissions anyway? That sounds odd. Why not throttle the 5.7? The srt is such a small percentage. And don't the euro diesels use the same tranny too? I can't imagine the 1-2% srt mix making a difference?

Sorry random thoughts...

I don't think so... since UConnect 8.4s still have some issues bit I could definitely be wrong on this one.

Why would you want to throttle your bread and butter?

CRDs and SRTs are the edge case builds, the Hemi and V6 are the movers and shakers that are selling like hotcakes.

No.

By uconnect scenario, I mean just that!.. It'd be foolish to prematurely release another new tech feature without having the bugs worked out, as was the case with the UConnect in this launch.

Any other issues I haven't spoke on, I still won't speak on.. I edit my posts waaay too much before I post them to make a mistake like that. Good try though!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I thought I'd catch you in a moment of your guard being down. Just like you weren't the most subtle tipster in the world with the transmission thing. Oh well.

Btw, my truck is still great. Puts a smile on my face every time I get in and hear that hemi rumble to life.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

The lease on my dad's '11 E90 328xi is coming up, he'd like to go to a '14 GC. 4X4. 3.6L engine is fine. Possibility of getting overland with $0 down within $25 of $500 a month? Or maybe Limited with Lux II?

Tough to say.

I got my V8 Overland with zero down (aside from fees and first month) for $578/month on a 39 month/15k lease. I know that lease terms are worse these days than back in April.

He might be able to do that in a Limited since they have better residuals than the Overland (but also worse interest rates). Could be possible though.
