Per my previous, yes I purchased from them. (in January) Ziegler is a Chrysler dealer. It's a Chrysler contract. It's on Chrysler paper. The extended service contract is associated with your VIN and it will come up in any Chrysler dealer's service system with the coverage indicated.

Purchase couldn't be easier...provide some information on the online form and pay them via credit card. A couple weeks later, a big envelope arrives from Chrysler with your contract documents.

I purchased from Ziegler. It was very straight forward. You will receive confirmation from Ziegler and the actual warranty info from Mopar. You could also verify it online via owner connect. The plan that you select will show up in the Chrysler system no matter what dealer you go to for service.

When I look at the Ziegler warranty site and get an on-line quote, it is interesting to note that if you select 2014 Grand Cherokee then check the Diesel box, your choices for coverage are only 5, 6 or 7 years. But if you uncheck Diesel, now your choices are 3,4,5,6,7 and Lifetime. Why won't they do lifetime coverage for diesels? Is it because they expect people to keep them longer and don't want that long term exposure to warranty claims? If I get a 5 yr /100,000 mile powertrain warranty from Jeep, I don't think I would spend the money to get just another one or two years beyond that. I'm still considering my purchase through one of the local dealers who offers a lifetime powertrain warranty through a 3rd party on every vehicle they sell at "no additional cost to the buyer". I specifically asked if that included the diesel, they checked with the company and said yes. My question is will that 3rd party warranty company still be around in 7 or 8 years to honor the warranty?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Vtail, Chrysler, to-date, has not offered the lifetime service contract on diesels. (The MY14 isn't the first diesel JGC) Hopefully, this will change at some point.

One possibility is after a certain point a major component of the engine e.g. the fuel injection system will have to be replaced. The cost for this replacement may be extreme. I am amazed they can offer a lifetime agreement at all.

Also, maybe the lifetime of a diesel is so much longer, the contract will be more expensive over the 350,000 miles of the vehicle.

I am looking forward to my diesel or my lifetime maximum care. I don't know which I want more. I am sticking to the diesel if ordering starts on August 9th. Since I almost want the HEMI® more now, I'm sure the diesel will show up. The good milage and emissions of the diesel make it the responsible choice.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Does anyone know when the stop and go feature of the adaptive cruise control will come out? I knew I wasn't getting it if I ordered early, now, it's not so early.

It's in the 14 Rango, so, I'm not sure if it's a software update they would need to do or something else (or if they would postpone it to MY15 JGC maybe).

Diesel vs. hemi. Food for thought, just got back from a 450 round trip run pulling a small pop up. On the way out, into a persistent headwind... Returned a pretty mediocre 15 mpg at 70 mph.

On the way back, no wind, that improved to 17.8. Not horrible for a 390 hp v8 but I would imagine the CRD would do probably 8 mpg better.

You gotta lay off the pedal! I'm getting 15 with 90% city driving right now.

Would you make the same offer on the 2014 Durango, and where are you located?

Dave is zipping around in a V8.

And you should be able to get decent traction on a % under invoice IF you have a control number (Treadlightly, Employer, Friends and Family, etc...) regardless if it's a Durango or a Jeep.
