I would let them know you have the affiliate discount, and that a rival dealer offered 1% below that and can they beat it.

The worst you can do is the affiliate number

Affiliate price is basicly a no haggle option it's 1% below invoice and that's it. You may get a better deal just asking for their bottom line price, some have been getting 2%-7% below invoice. I would ask several dealers for their best price and if non of them can beat 1% below invoice then I would hit them with Affiliate program. That's my plan anyway.

I sent out emails and told dealers I had the Affiliate Reward certificate and asked them if they could do better than 1% off invoice. One offered my another $750 off (so that's another 1.5%), one offered a free lifetime powertrain warranty, some didn't respond at all, my closest local dealer won't make any offers until they know what the pricing will be (I'm waiting for the diesel). I'm leaning toward the one offering the warranty as I usually keep my cars 10 yrs.

The "dual screens" on the center stack would drive me crazy, what an ill-conceived idea!

I missed my opportunity to actually getting a look at one of these. Even someone like me would agree that dual screens is probably not a good idea. I had read that they tried to tidy up the cockpit to make it seem less like you were flying aircraft. This may be tidier but probably much more complicated!

Let them know you have an affiliate control number and would like to know what price they can give you that beats the 1% below. I would also recommend telling them to only contact you though email initially so you have record of their written offers and so your phone wont be constantly ringing.

When I ordered my jeep I emailed 8 dealerships in the San Diego area and one said 1% +$500, and another said 3-4%. All the others just tried to play games and would not give a price unless I went to their dealership. One actually said they could lose their license if they sell me a car below the 1%. haha Get a firm out the door price in an email before going to the dealership. I ended up placing an over the phone at 4% below invoice plus $500 off from a coupon jeep sent.

Good luck!

Thanks for the input, everyone. I've done the e-mail thing a couple times before so I hear you guys on keeping everything in writing. Sounds like it's best to be up front with the affiliate number. My plan is to send out my exact specs and ask for them to meet a specific price (5% or 6% below invoice since I've seen that done more than once). If they can't meet the price, they can suggest their best offer.

I'll report back on how it goes (hopefully by the end of next week). Let the games begin!

I'm getting ready to do the very same thing for a Durango Citadel. This forum has been invaluable to me. Looking forward to hearing how you fare.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Been emailing dealerships in my area (Orange County, CA) for price quotes, can you guys let me know your thoughts on what price I should be shooting for?

Laredo - E
Options: Security and Convenience Package & 18" Wheel + 8" Display.

I currently have an offer for 32.8k while most others are around 33.4k. Should I be expecting any better deals than 32.8 or is that a good deal? I think the invoice adds up to 33,209 or 32,323 (not sure if I'm suppose to add the sunroof price to the invoice of security and convenience package as well).

Fly to CO and pick one up for 4-5% under invoice...

Can't argue with that... I didn't have too much issue with it though.

Because you don't need to be "driven" anywhere.... You are already there!
