same for me
GC Overland 4x4 is NOW: 46,195 (MSRP) 43,940 (inv)
Also: Advanced Technology Group is NOW: 1,795 (MSRP) / 1,598 (inv)
EXF Diesel: Unchanged
Off-road Adventure II: unchanged
Engine Block Heater: Unchanged
Appearance groups: ???? Didn't order.

These changes amounted to a $300 change in MSRP. Sorry, got this wrong before.

There have been upgrades to account for the price increases I believe. Upgrades are good.

I'm sure Milous will update the front page upon verifying the info...

I'm sure the other models will have new pricing as well, depending on options.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

To those folks who ordered the Diesel - what are your thoughts there on spending the extra $4k....is it that you were just concerned with the low mileage of the non-diesel.....do you expect to make your $$ back on the amount you will save on gas over the next few years? Do you have any concerns on the performance and reliability of the diesel? Interesting that in Europe diesel is the slightly cheaper fuel....be a no-brainer of it was like that over here - we'd all be ordering diesels.
Sorry if there is a thread on this already.

Sorry if there is a thread on this already.
There has been much discussion on this already, but here is an interesting report:
http://www.ns.umich.edu/new/releases...ners-thousands
For most on this forum that purchase the diesel, $ savings isn't the big reason. For many it is towing or high altitude performance. For others, fuel economy, long times between fill-ups, lower CO2 emissions and higher resale value are also part of the equation. Based on my wife's experience with her Jetta TDI, I simply decided that I wanted a diesel for my next vehicle. I'll keep it for 10 years, so if there is an extra cost, it will be negligible on an annual basis.

Aussies been running that power plant for years.

If you ever tow anything diesel is supreme.

You are guaranteed 30% savings minimum from comparable V8s.... how often have you seen diesel more that 10-15% over petrol.

Lastly, drive a VW Mercedes or BMW Diesel and you will get it. 420 foot pounds of torque!

I ordered my Overland 4x4 Diesel earlier today and noticed the same thing. The MSRP/Invoice increased for the Overland 4x4 and the Advanced Tech Group (ADG). My rig also included the block heater and Off-Road II, there were no increases on those options.

Here are the MSRP and Invoice prices indicated on my Priced Order Confirmation (POC):
WKJS74 GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND 4X4 46,195 43,940
EXF 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel Engine 4,500 4,005
NHK Engine Block Heater 95 88
AWY Off-Road Adventure II 995 886
ADG Advanced Technology Group 1,795 1,598
Destination 995 995

On my order, the increase was $1k for the base Overland 4x4 and $100 for the Advanced Tech. This does match what was on the Jeep.com Build & Order at the time my order was entered. Price increases must have been gone in for this allocation?

-Eric

Yes. 3 years at 24k miles/yr

Diesels are generally MORE reliable and perform better. When compared with the Hemi, part throttle performance is similar with way better economy...and less than $2k difference. Payback is faster versus the more comparable V8.

30%+ improved economy, V8 torque, with 10% fuel premium.
Its already a no-brainer for many of us.
