The Only information I have is what it shows in the "2014 Grand Cherokee
OWNER’S MANUAL DIESEL SUPPLEMENT"; it also says the same exact thing including spelling mistakes in the User's Guide.
We recommend you use ACEA C3 5W-30 engine oil meeting Chrysler material standard MS-11106 or Pennzoil Ultra Euro L full synthetic 5W-30 motor oil
I don't know what MS-11106 has for requirements. I do know more or less based upon what the three oils specs are that I can find.
Personally, I know for sure "Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5W-30" has builder approval and the above mentioned Pennzoil.
Amsoil spends their time meeting builder specifications not getting builder approval.
Amsoil technical support staff said they have no oil at present that they are claiming meets MS-11106 or that should be used in a 2014 JGC Diesel.
They have a product that meets all of the below builder specs and they still say we can't recommend it for your 2014 JGC Diesel. This has caused me to be careful when choosing an oil.
(In My VW manual it actually says you might die if you use the wrong oil.)
AMSOIL® European Car Formula 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil
Meets these specs.
- VW 504.00/507.00
- Mercedes-Benz 229.51
- BMW LL-04
- Porsche C30
One last thing, mobil 1 comes in Liters, great for VW's bad for Jeeps.
How many liters is 8 quarts? 7.57 The pennzoil comes is quarts. It would be better still if it came in gallons. Your new 2014 JGC Diesel uses 2 gallons of Oil.
