2014 JGC Limited 4x4 V8
Black / Black
Lux Package II

I live in Austin and have contacted 10-15 dealers in Texas in the past few months. Initially, I heard back from 5 and they all sent nearly the exact same pricing, $45K sticker - $1500.

Once I let them know invoice for this model with upgrades is actually closer to $41K, some disappeared and others went into bunker mode.

My OTD price is $40K, which is 3-4% off invoice. Given the huge demand down here I don't think I'll get any better than that but would love some feedback from people that have purchased the same car or similar configuration and any negotiation tactics.

Thanks in advance.

Shankly

Just sent a PM with 5.5% below invoice in Texas.

There were some Pilot Builds that were shipped and yes they are functioning units... It is an orderable option in many cases but will prevent it from getting scheduled for build. I believe that to be globally.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Question about buying new from dealers.

So if a dealer has a vehicle listed on their website for an "Internet Price". Will it be possible to get a similar vehicle(color) with same if not, very similar specs for an "Internet Price" too?

Here's what I'm settling with.

Limited
4x4
V6
Towing
Highly preferred color-Granite Crystal

I have a local dealer listing a black Limited 4x4 V6. Includes O-R II, Sunroof, Uconnect. Total price is $41,975. This is what's shown on the Internet Price. Internet Price= $36,471-$500 Military Rebate**-$1,000 Conquest Lease Rebate***=$34,971

I don't qualify for any of the rebates, so price will be $36,471.

I don't want the Q-L air system and really don't another black vehicle, but the price seems great. Unfortunately, this dealer doesn't have anything similar at the moment. They got a bunch shown as in transit though. It appears this is a high volume dealer because they got a bunch of JGC.

I found another dealer about 15 miles away. They have pretty much exactly what I wanted. This is going by the website and the "View Sticker" option. They actually had 2, but it looks like 1 sold today.

Anyways, Granite, V6, 4x4, Limited, Towing, O-R I, Uconnect.
MSRP is $40,825. They have it listed as $39,045 for their internet price. I offered $35,600 and show them the comp from the other dealer. But the person I was talking to, didn't flat out say not, but you could tell he wasn't going anywhere near that price. I took out the difference for the sunroof.

I would probably do up to $36,500 but I don't really want to spend much more than that. Talking to the person, it sounds like lowest they will go is somewhere in the 38XXX range.

Now just how realistic is my price? I'm not in a hurry to buy, but the longer I keep my vehicle, the lower the trade-in will be.

Also destination charge. Will dealers sneak that in after negotiations, or is that usually included in the price shown on the websites?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

As much as I wanted the DVD option, I'm glad I didn't wait to order when it released. Those waiting for it are in a worse position than the people who waited for the diesel. I still have my fingers cross that we can add this feature later, although looking at the design I don't expect it to be cheap.

Newegg.com - Audiovox D7121ESK Audiovox 7" dual widescreen portable dvd players

Less than $150.

Wow, $141 vs $1900 and a wait. And you can even move these to other vehicles.

Can't that be removed? I would assume it was a dealer installable option...

The monitors from Jeep are very good and very sleek, you're paying for a quality product.. Fit and finish is also very good, and as well as that, it's all integrated so you can listen to your media through the vehicle's speakers.. It's got HDMI input, DVD/CD/Bluray player all integrated, and nice sounding wireless headphones too.. All in all, I think it's a good package at a very good price, and if you can wait for it, you won't be disappointed;-)

For those who can't wait, there are some good aftermarket inexpensive alternatives out there!!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I've seen the alternative and my daughter so far enjoys using the tablet to watch movies, but I still would prefer the integrated system over an aftermarket addon. As much as I want to wait and get this added, I have my doubts it will be possible with the 14.5 models already having features that cannot carry over to the earlier builds.
