Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Heard from my local rep that the Rear Entertainment package will be AVAILABLE for order when the banks open tomorrow morning (12/4). Can anyone else confirm?

Would you know if this can be added by the dealer? I waited as long as I could and bought back in August.

Looking at the photos looks like a seat replacement would be a minimum requirement so highly doubtful. Wiring, electrical would be costly to retrofit

Does there seem to be more issues around the '14 JGC (recall/other from Jeep garage threads) than in the previous years. There are still some '13 JGC Ltd new around. Possibly this model year ('11-'13) had all the bugs worked out?

Considering this is a newly designed vehicle there will be upgrades via software etc that maybe needed as all automakers do this. If you want older technology then go get a 2011-2013 and see how that works for you along with the depreciation hit you're gonna take,if that's not an issue for you then take a look at that option, either way welcome to the jeep family should you decide to jump in with both feet.

With the new electrical system, I would hope the seats can be replaced with the video ones and a software update would enable the video functionality. I still see it being an expensive upgrade compared to adding it at the factory.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Could anyone help me with my dilemma please?
I am interested in the limited trim and the Lux package but I am not a fan of the new head light design.
Is it possible to replace them with the halogen head light? If so, will it be a reasonably easy job to do it myself or the whole wiring system is different?
I searched for this in the forum but could not find an answer.
I appreciate your response.

Take my advice and go with the HIDs in the Lux package - they function much better than the halogens, and the LED DRLs on the factory HIDs are beautiful! I got my Limited before the Lux II package was available on them; wish I had the upgraded HIDs. I installed aftermarket HIDs in my halogen projector housings and they work great, but not as good as the factory HIDs. Plus, you'd have a hard (if not impossible) time switching to the halogen assemblies as I believe the electrical architecture in the '14s is different between those two light assemblies.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Hey guys, I'm finally getting back in a jeep after 12 years in other cars. I've been lurking for a few days reading everything I can about pricing and how to approach the dealers to get the best price on a GC limited. Thank you all for all the great info.

Is anyone in NC and had any experience with any of the dealers around Raleigh/Durham? There are probably 10 dealers in the area. Two or three are large volume dealers and may be the best to approach to get a price below invoice. Just wanted to see if anyone has bought in the area and which dealer you were able to get the best price from. I'm not opposed to driving to Charlotte or southern VA as well to find a dealer willing to deal.
