Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Something to consider is that an Overland with a lower sticker may not have features that have been added during the 2014 model year, such as Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and the ability to set the air suspension to automatically lower the GC when you exit. These features cannot be retrofitted to Overlands built before the date on which the features were added.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I ordered an Overland because the features I wanted I could get on the Limited except the air ride which I wanted also. By the time I did that I would be close to the Overland price...

I had the same thought process Fun2Drive. Some things I figure I could do without but some things I could not. If this is to be the Jeep I keep for the long haul, then I want it pretty much exactly like I can get it. What I may have to compromise on I want to be able to live with.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I ordered my JGC CRD on August 24th. Based upon the advice given in this forum, I asked my dealer before taking delivery of my vehicle on November 12th if I were on the list of Chrysler "preferred" customers to see if I qualified for $500 cash back. Without bothering to check he said I was not.

The next week I received the $500 cash back certificate from Jeep in the mail, good toward the purchase of a new Jeep. The fine print clearly stated it was only good on new and not previous purchases.

I sent a letter complaining to Jeep CEO Mike Manley. A week later I was contacted by a member of his staff by phone, who asked that I email him a copy of the certificate. Long story short, Chrysler sent me a check for $500 which I received on Christmas Eve day!

Although this was clearly my dealer's fault, I appreciate Chrysler for stepping up to the plate and honoring the cash back offer. The staffer who made it happen told me it was the right thing to do.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Ordered my Limited 4x4 on 12/20. EcoDiesel, Lux II, Off Road II, Nav. Looking through this thread it looks like I didn't get that great of a deal at just north of $43K, but I'm not unhappy.
Now the 6-8 week wait is going to be a killer, just I hope I get some sort of notification at some point.

I've been lurking here for several months and gleaning a lot of knowledge in prep for a potential JGC purchase. So with that said, I wanted to run this deal by the group as I've gotten a bit lost in the numbers and would like some confirmation as to whether it's good or not.

2014 Diesel Summit with single CD in North Texas.

Sticker: $57,585.00 (Invoice: $54,337; Edmunds TMV: $55,084)
Affiliate Discount: -$ 3,791.37 (1% under invoice)
Lease Rebate: -$ 1,000.00 (Discount for current lease on a Mercedes)
----------------------------------------------
$52,793.63
----------------------------------------------
Trade-In: -$ 3,500.00
Down Payment: -$ 7,750.00
----------------------------------------------
$41,543.63
----------------------------------------------
Texas TTL: ??? (County sales tax is 8.25%)
----------------------------------------------
63 months @ 1.9%
$752/month

The sales person was being sketchy and wouldn't leave me alone with the number worksheets and my own notes seem to have "disappeared" in the process. That's why I don't list the total finance amount. After we worked the deal, they left me sitting for well over an hour waiting for a "finance manager" so I got fed up and walked out. Of course they've been calling me non-stop apologizing ever since.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I would suggest a group buy if you are willing to travel for a deal. There's one in Texas which would work for you. I went for the DC group buy, which is a 450 mile drive, which is worth the 7% below invoice. The Texas GB is 5.5% below invoice.

what kind of a deal did you get?

Consider not buying one with the single CD...the CD unit takes up nearly the entire inside of the center console which is very inconvenient. Media, such as SD cards and smartphones, make a lot more sense these days and having a center console that you can actually store things in is a nice thing to have...

And yes, check out the "group buy" opportunities. There is one setup in Houston, if I recall, and a number of forum members have enjoyed their experiences--one fellow from a state on the northern border of the US, included...he flew down to take delivery and drove it home.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Is there any information available for the Houston group buy? Who the contact/dealership is and what the process is? My local dealers are basically saying sticker for an Overland CRD and refuse to even take the affiliates reward number. Thanks

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Thanks for the information. My local dealer was not cooperative at all when it came to the CRDs and only marginally interested in dealing on the Hemi while at the same time offering bottom line pricing on a trade for mine.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Placed my order yesterday--absolutely painless. Much better experience with Mark at Houston versus trying to work locally, and Jeep's order communication is impressive so far.
