Yep, you've got it worse I think. Harder to know its there and you're not. Not forgetting how long it took to get to this point.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Hey all - I'm going to be ordering my Jeep within the week, but had a couple questions before I do, about options. I flipped through the > 600 pages in this thread but didn't see what I was looking for (could easily have missed it though, and if I did, I'm sorry for reposting!). The options I'm concerned about -

  1. Lux II - How much better is the leather in this version than the standard leather in the Limited? Ideally I'd go to a dealership to compare, but the timeframe I'm trying to order and my schedule doesn't seem to be lining up. I've looked at pictures, but I wanted to get some opinions. Is there a significant difference in quality?
  2. Lux II - also, the panoramic sunroof - for those of you with the Lux II package, do you feel the extra sunroof space has been good? Any concerns about it? Anyone wish the had just gone with a standard single pane (or no) sunroof?
  3. Tow Hitch - to get a tow hitch on the limited, without going aftermarket, do I have to get the trailer tow group IV? Are the additional components in that package worth just getting the tow package from the factory vs. aftermarket tow hitch?
  4. Off-road 1 - there's a discount on this with the trailer tow group IV, but if I don't plan to do any off roading, there's not really any reason to get this group, right? Or is there some benefit to this package even for non-off road?

Sorry if those last few questions seem basic; I've only ever bought sporty cars so my mindset of what I'm looking for has drastically changed with this new purchase!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

LuxII differences in leather is really something you need to sit in both versions. I looked at both and decided that I wanted the Overland instead.

The panoramic sunroof I wish was a delete option but isn't. To me it is the last thing I wanted if that helps any. Just more hardware to break. I never used my sunroof in my M3 BMW which I owned 13 years but once. I have not used it in my Outback yet which I have owned a 1 1/2.

Towing package is way more than the hitch. It is also sway control and wiring which if you tow a trailer not matched to the hitch height and weight will help it from swaying back and forth all over the road. This is a very useful option.

Off road package is a very personal deal since it has some very nice features for off road but on road can't think of a thing...

Hopefully other opinions are coming...

Crkwolf
Waiting to hear you got your check and what you ordered and yes I have it bad. I am now out of town and just as I predicted my ride is now at River Oaks.

Dieseljimmy
Hey see you are in CA so not long for you now. I missed Milous thumbs up on the way to the dealer post since I was traveling all day but said it was delivered early this am woo-woo.

Now just over two weeks to pick it up. I sent Mark another email asking what is going on. I am sure he will get back with me soon...
Cheers...

Yep frustrating to wait on escrow. The date keeps moving around, even as of today.

Leather is really personal. You need to look, touch, smell, and sit in order to make that decision. Don't let someone else decide for you.

Panoramic sunroof is wonderful. Makes the interior much brighter on dreary days--like right now in the northeast. No issues with it so far.
