Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

imaduner, since order banks for MY15 JGC don't open until June, it will not be likely that the information you are interested in will be available until just before then.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Looking to buy a 2014 GC limited 4x4 with Lux II and Nav. Dealer keeps quoting the invoice for this is 41790. I get 40658. The dealer keeps saying the invoice price goes up throughout the year. Any advice?

Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up Milous. Is this the same date for right hand drive JGCs as well?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I was curious to see what people were getting for a '14 gas v6 Overland with Advance Tech and ORA-II package.
MSRP is $49,580. How about the group buy from DC? I'm only about 2 hrs away.
A local dealer has an overland spec'd the way I want listed online for $46,302 but it has at least 160 miles on from people test driving. Think I could use that to get a few more $$$ off or maybe a reduced Chrysler lifetime MaxCare (Which I plan on getting whenever I do purchase).

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Hi everyone, brand new here!

Long story short, I read the Jeep Forum "what did you pay" thread and it directed me here to check invoice prices.

I'm in SW Ohio, and I'm curious what others around my area are paying. I'm getting an idea of 4-5% invoice is common, and 9-10% off MSRP? Is that pretty accurate?

Any group buys near Ohio?

I'm looking for a 2014 Limited 4x4 with the basic 8.4" screen, MSRP is $38,195, net of $39k. From my research, it seems like a decent price would be $34-35k + TTL?

Would I be better off waiting until December/January when the dealers are trying to get rid of the 2014 stock? Thanks!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

polizei, since JGC is such a hot seller, there will not likely be much "inventory" of MY14 by December/January! There will be some around, but...

New factory orders for MY14 stop at the end of next week, in fact. New factory orders for MY15 starts in early June.

Some of the group buys may continue for MY15 and some may not. But they typically have been coming in at about 4-7% below invoice. "Anyone" can get 1% off invoice through the affiliate program. And the best time to negotiate for a local buy is the last week of a month, especially when it's the last week of a quarter...dealers will be more willing to cut initial deal margin to gain the valuable manufacturer bonuses for volume sales.

You won't have to wait that long.. As soon as late July you could begin to see '14s clearing out and whatever remains will be marked down as the '15s are slated to ship.. Definitely won't be able to find a new '14 in December though. They'll be long gone from dealer lots. Lightly used, sure, but new '14s will probably become a rarity in Aug/Sep.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Thanks for the replies.

I went ahead and emailed about 20 dealerships to try and start a bidding war for the lowest price, to see what they're willing to do up front, so far not much luck except one dealer.

I had one dealer flat out tell me their best price was $42-44k for a Limited, I didn't even bother to reply to them!

You guys have any good links to people who are getting really good deals around the Ohio/Indiana/Kentucky area? If I have some "ammunition" of other deals, I may be able to negotiate a little better. Basically what I'm seeing is 10% off MSRP is a pretty solid deal, is that correct? Am I reading correctly that the DC group buy is at -7% invoice?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

Never ever consider pricing as a percentage off of MSRP when buying a car. Always start at invoice. And yes, the DC group buy is 7% off Invoice plus a $499 documentation fee, T/T. It would be an easy trip for you. Post in that thread to indicate your desire to receive information.

Yep. For details, take a look at post #1518 in the DC metro GB thread. Per Milous, you only have a few days remaining to place an order if you want something specific, otherwise you can choose from something off their lot.

You can also look at the TX group buy for another great deal.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

So, maybe I'm missing something here. If so, I apologize, this is all very new to me. I'm just trying to do some research so I don't end up getting screwed!

You said never to go off MSRP, however this is what I figured:

MSRP - $39,685 (with destination and uConnect [$495]) : 10% off MSRP = $35,716
Invoice - $38,200 (with destination and uConnect [$441]) : 7% off invoice = $35,526 (not including DC $500 fee if applicable)

Am I missing something on the math? It seems pretty darn close to me. Do dealers normally go off invoice or MSRP?

FWIW, I'm planning on doing a lease. I know it isn't the smartest decision money-wise, but I can't afford to finance, unfortunately (I need lower monthly payments). How is leasing going to play into it???? Anyone running incentives?

Just for fun, lets say I get the dealer to agree to the 7% off invoice, what would be my next step after that?

ETA: Not the interior color I want...but this seems to be even a better deal than the MSRP/Invoice quote above. It has the premium 8.4" screen and the sunroof!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

If you want the DC deal, you'll want to buy, not lease. As has been discussed here a few times, the lease rates are "not" attractive from that dealer by a wide margin, but they are about the best in the country for a buy. For leasing, you also add some complexity because you need to know the money factor and some other things in order to know if you have a good deal or not...monthly payment isn't the only consideration.
