I think that's what the production date has been for a little while now, but order banks should still open next week like expected

Amazon just hasn't updated everything. They fit, I have them on my 14 now. I would never trust Amazon on whether or not something fits a vehicle. My Magnaflow exhaust isn't supposed to fit either.

We're certainly getting close! Is 5 days away from a current date the record so far? Haha... Thinking positive... Though I'm not really sure if the May 7th date is for Canadian orders as well?

I am getting anxious, but more so for the reviews :(. The late Blu-ray availability will keep me on the sidelines and that TrailHawk has me interested... But unsure. Milous' timeline says 'Fall 2013' and based on the weather I figured it was already here, lol... 3 days of 'warm'... Then summers over... Blizzard.

I am particularly interested in actual fuel economy numbers (who knows, maybe trying to get get closer to their 30mpg number is part of the delay?). The environmental requirements in the North American market unfortunately make the European numbers largely irrelevant. Check out how in 4 years the fuel economy of a VW Golf got consistently worse, all due to meeting the government standards on what goes out the tailpipe.

I'm thinking the delay was purely so that they could produce for offshore sales. They know the CRD sells like hotcakes for the Aussies and in the EU. My guess is that they bumped back North America sales to focus on getting CRD's out the door for the known markets. NA is still a relatively unknown market for diesels in SUVs, especially for Jeep. It makes the best sense to build them for where you know you will move em first, and then setup a run for new markets.

My hope is that CRD opens on May 7th, else I'll have to start taking the other models I've looked at a bit more seriously.

Hey folks, need some help. I just went to order a new 2014 Laredo E with the 18" wheel and RA3 radio group, option AEX. I was told this option is closed. Any idea why, and if it will be available again. I really don't want to spend 5 more grand to get the 8" radio, because this radio is still available in the other trim levels, and in every other Dodge, Chrysler product.

Yes, I also was told the order banks were closed, but the salesman said he should still be able to select that option, and build the car, we just could not order it until the sales banks open up. He was unable to even select this option, whereas he could the other options I wanted. He also showed me a sheet that showed the 20" wheel and radio group option as closed ( yes it said 20 insted of 18 I'm assuming typo).

I have a similar problem but not that bad. One vehicle is 10 years old and the other is 12. One is barely holding on. I would also be frustrated but will likely still wait.

I am not being cheap in not buying a new vehicle, have been looking for over a year, I just am particular about what I buy. The technology in the new JGCs is unmatched in its class. The suspension was designed by Mercedes, the electronics are state of the art, and when the CRD is released, it will have the best fuel economy in the world for its class. No slight to anyone here, the Pentastar is an excellent engine, but for me it is not big enough for this truck. The Hemi is an excellent engine. However, for someone who keeps their vehicles 10-12 years, and remembers the Arab oil embargo, the price of gas is not going down over the long haul, and it is a thirsty engine.

Taurreg, Audi A7, Porche Cayanne are essentially the same vehicle, all built on the same platform. The Taureg has the bells and whistles intentionally omitted so that they can justify the cost of the A7 and Cayanne. JGC CRD is still THE vehicle.

In the past, it has been said here, existing orders could be changed. So, to the customer, this is a new order but in the system it may be an existing order. So, just because the order banks are closed for the month doesn't mean a dealer can't change an existing order already in the system and give you a VON.

The factory is predicted to only have so many parts. For instance, if they know they only have enough carpet for 500 blue interiors then the ordering system will cut off at that number. They predict how many blue interiors will be sold during that production cycle. One month they might have not enough blue carpet the next month they might have too much. If they won't have the parts then they can't build it in the current production cycle. The next production cycle order banks open on May 7th. Some parts, because of production capacity at the source, might be limited every month. In this case it is important to order at the beginning of the cycle for items that are in short supply. I'm confident the CRD's will fill up early in the cycle and won't necessarily open again the following month. By calling dealers, the factory knows, almost exactly, the size of the first U.S. CRD production run.

I'm new to the forum. I am about ready to turn in my 2013 Pathfinder under the PA lemon law. It was a great riding vehicle just too far many issues. Anyways just ordered an Overland v6 with advanced technology package in billet silver with black leather. Best I could get was $44,500 while I realize its under invoice was hoping to do a bit better.

First it supports the site to keep it running and get all of us all the info we want about our vehicles (or life, whatever)..

Second the tracking by milhous shows you when you hit d1 status, which means you are going to be built within about 10 days. You can see if your jeep is in any inspection stage and when it has actually been released from the plant. You can then see all the stops it makes from JNAP to your dealership.

VOTS (jeeps tracking system) shows you production scheduled (hey we got your order), then frame paint etc, but it's only updated once a day and it will be built in less than a day, so those steps aren't relevant. Then it will say shipment. That's it.

I just heard from my dealer the diesels are pushed back again ... Generally he is right on with what goes on here from milous. I don't want to believe it though due to all the press on the diesel of late ... Gotta think that press timing is to coordinate with production. You look dumb when all the press is out and you don't have product to sell.

I was really thinking this was the date this time around ... Makes me nervous there's something wrong. Now we may have time to consider the 2014 BMW X5.

If they push it out again, that will confirm that the CRD was never intended to be more than a marketing ploy.

Being a former XJ owner that sold it due to a series of recalls that all said "may result in a crash", it took me a decade to consider a jeep again.:(

In spring of last year, Chrysler's CEO made a press announcement that a JGC diesel "CRD" would be released with the 2013s. It has been a bumpy and very delayed ride since then. Frustrating, because, every month brings a new delay (without a reason), there is no real competition, and because we have no power to effect the process.

Sergio stated that a CRD would be released "next year" (2014 models), he never mentioned the 2013 model year as getting it. Those that didn't know the 14s were coming early assumed it would happen in 2nd part of the '13 model year.

The original start date that I posted earlier last year (late March) will only have been delayed about 7-weeks if production ends up starting on 5/13. Production of the overseas CRD models has been going on for awhile now, and a ton of U.S. CRDs have been built for quite awhile now, all undergoing testing and certification.

When you go with the "OFF-ROAD ADVENTURE II (AWY)" package on the Overland it comes with "P265/60R18 BSW AS On/Off Rd Tires (TP5)" These are apparently the "Michelin Latitude Tour" from the photos on WK2Jeeps.com (The Limited Shown clearly has the Off-road Package), as well as Tire Racks OEM on the 2013.

The "Michelin Latitude Tour" as people have said here before is not an All terrain tire.

Here is a description, from tire rack:
The Latitude Tour is Michelin's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season light truck tire developed for the drivers of crossovers, sport utility vehicles and light duty pickups looking to combine comfort, wear and fuel efficiency. Most Latitude Tour tires meet Michelin’s Green X standards for long tread life, good wet traction and low rolling resistance, as well as provide year-round traction, including in light snow.
So my question is why did Jeep choose these tires for the "Off-Road" package?
Possible answers:
  1. Increased EPA economy rating.
  2. Road safety(e.g. dry stopping distance).
  3. General On Road handling.
  4. Price.
  5. Road Noise(i.e. dB rating)

Any other thoughts?
My guess is a combination of 1,2 and 5.
I am immediately switching to an all Terrain Tire (DISCOVERER A/T3™).
If I'm right and the new A/T tires will change the MPG I'm getting, does anyone have any idea how much the numbers will change?

I posed that question to Jeep customer service. After several phone calls from a woman at Jeep and sending her (at her request) a copy of my window sticker, her answer was to speak to my sales manager. This was after I told her this was not specific to my vehicle. I asked her to take 5 minutes and check out the Michelin description of the tires. She told me she is not allowed to do that, but must go with whatever Jeep tells her.

It seems that the folks at Jeep are afraid to know the truth.

I asked Milous awhile back if he could provide contact info for anyone at Jeep who could look into this and maybe correct it. I got no reply.

Maybe this would be a better class action suit than the one the was proposed last week. :lol:
