I am pricing a 2014 Jeep Overland 4X4 in No. Cal. I have a Affiliate quote that looks good except the price on the V8 is:

EZH 5.7L V8 MDS VVT Engine 2,695 /2,399

As opposed to the Milius number of:

EZH [MSRP $2,195 / INV. $ 1,954]

Does anyone know if there has been a price increase of is this just a cute trick?

#6,156 · (Edited)
When I bought my Overland, ordered January 22/delivery date March 14, the prices Milous had posted were accurate. I too used the affiliate program.

What other options did you price?

If you select ORII first, it will show a lower price than if you select V8 first. Then, when you select the V8 it shows a higher price. That's because since you already selected ORII, the engine selection also adds Quadradrive. This is just an example of how selecting options in different orders may make one appear more expensive. In this example the cost of the Quadradrive shifted from one package to another.

It's the total cost that counts.

I want a Red Overland 4X4 with:
5.7L V8 (EZH) & 8 spd Trans (DFD)
Adv. Tech Grp (ADG)
Mopar Chrome (AEE)
Off-Road ADV II (AWY)

My internet inquiries have netted me a 4% less than Invoice, but there is the ~$450 extra for the V8. It is a deal it just that I wonder if I can trust them if the play with the V8 cost.

This is supposed to be a birthday present to me for my mid-life crisis (70) so I want to get on with it while I can still enjoy it. LOL

Wanted to post some pictures as we are extremely happy with our new Jeep Overland in Granite. Only issue we have is a tint defect in the rear quarter glass which has been on order for over a week and like most others, Uconnect is far from 100% glitch free but hoping an update soon will correct the issues. Also added rear cargo mat which i feel is a necessity and all 3 skid plates to provide off road while keeping the 20" tires. Getting 23-25 MPG with the V6. Very happy.

Are those the Mopar Frt & Rr Door Entry Guards? If so, I thought they only came with the MOPAR CHROME EDITION GROUP or the MOPAR EXTERIOR APPEARANCE GROUP. Regardless, they look awesome.

Nice looks good! Question for you I have a Summit that I am adding skid plates to also and keeping the 20s. I found all three shipped for $416 at the place below, is this a good price? Also can you verify the three part numbers, are these correct? 82211995, 82211999, 82211994AB. Is that everything I need? Thanks! :)

When I worked my deal on my new Overland I had the dealer install them and was included with my affiliation discount. I do believe the price you listed seems fair though. It appears the 3 part numbers are the same ones I added so you should be good to go. Jeep mentions an underbody skid plate as part of gather off road group but it appears that is already standard on all the Grand Cherokees. After adding these 3 mentioned skid plates my entire underside is covered. One word of caution. I did not install but I did see the install instructions for the fuel tank skid plates. This does not appear to be an easy job due to removal of some key bolts actually holding up the fuel tank while installing the skid plates. Like my Overland, your Summit gets very low due to the air suspension. Not much room to work under there without a good lift. My thoughts only.... I paid this much for the Jeep, I had the dealership install to save me the trouble and I also received the 3yr 36k warranty for having them do it. HOWEVER, don't forget my favorite part .... Make sure to order the Trail Rated emblem. Although the 20" prevent from being official... It throws off any Jeep expert when they see it with 20" and to me it looks cool. Approx $30. Enjoy your Jeep.

Great thanks for the response, where can I find this trail emblem you are talking about and where does it go? do you have a part number? apologize if this has already been talked about. Thanks

In the small drivers side window behind the passenger window there was a defect in the tinting. A tinted window should be consistent and this one had several places where it was les tint... Almost clear. At first we thought it was just some goo or film on the window however since it could not be wiped off the dealer looked closer and determined the tint layer inside the glass layers was defective.

Picking up my 14' Limited Granite (20' rims, sunroof, tow package, NAV, CD player) tomorrow after following this thread for months. I think I got quite the deal, 13% off sticker with lease conquest and bonus cash incentives.

If theres anyone in NOVA looking to get this same type of deal, shoot me a PM and I can give you some more info. on the dealership/salesman.

Cheers!

Man i dont know how you guys get such amazing deals.... I can't get a dealer to come off sticker..

Last dealer i called went like this "Hi im calling about a jeep you have in stock.. the stock # is xxxx.. I would like to find out what kinda of price you can do on that...

Response.. The price is listed on the webpage... want me to write it up?

That was the whole conversation.. 3 dealers like that now its like chrysler doesn't want to sell cars...

Ice, unfortunately it really depends on where you are. The group buys are getting great deals, but if you're not close in proximity. I've got it worked out if the crd becomes available using the affiliate pricing to get 2% below invoice. I would've tried for more, but I've got a trade and they have me a fair price on that. If your not familiar the affiliate pricing is 1% below invoice, but the dealer gets an additional 2% holdback, so there is some wiggle. Without that I couldn't get a dealer near me to come off invoice

I see that Milous slipped in an update on Staurday to post #1with the following:
"3.0L diesel engine - Late June, 2013"

VERY frustrating! I assume this means that ordering has also slipped?

What is the deal? Beginning to look like Chrysler is pulling a fast one on us.

Time to buy some donuts. hmmm. Late June, no more specific dates. Late June implies July production which implies June ordering. Possible June 4th, 2013 implication to be exact.

If at least they let us place an order on Tuesday, it would give us a bone to chew on. I always give my dog a bone to chew on when I have company.

I am starting to foam at the mouth...

First post here so I hope this is the right place to post this question. I read the last dozen pages and saw a similar question a few days ago.

I am shopping for a 2014 Overland 4x4 with the following options 1) V8 2) Advanced Tech and 3) Quadra-Drive II.

I received a dealer "Configuration Preview" from a dealer on Friday May 3rd and a different dealer on Saturday May 4th and just a build price as I outlined from a third on Saturday.

On both build "Configuration Preview"s which is I guess is printed using Chrysler software, the V8 engine shows an MSRP of 2,695 and an invoice of 2,399 compared to MSRP of 2,195 everywhere else that I have seen. They show correct numbers of MSRP of 1,695 for the Tech package and 795 for Quadra-Drive II. These sheets show HB, FFB and EP numbers as well. The dealer that just gave me a price also reflected the increased price.

If you build this vehicle on Jeeps site, look at dealer inventory window stickers and use the info here, MSRP is 51,675. However, everything I was given shows MSRP increased by 500 and is now 52,175 due to the increased engine price.

Was there a recent increase to the price of the V8 engine from MSRP 2,195 to MSRP of 2,695?

Thanks and this place is great. Just joined a few days ago.

-----------------------

I Searched incoming v8 window stickers and v8 is now MSRP $2,695 on Limited/Overland and $3,195 on Summit. Must be recent as found some incoming Summits with $3,195 and $2,695 pricing.

On Apr 4 my dealership sales manager had just gotten of a telecom where he was told diesel production was being pushed out to late June, so the best I could hope for realistically would be to receive the vehicle I wanted in early August. So I punted and ordered a Hemi. Now that I have the Hemi, I am very pleased.

Buying an Explorer Sport it looks like.

Tired of this crap.

Same power and torque as the Hemi, $6k less, MPG close to the V6, and a 3rd row.

As much as I'd like to reward Jeep for this BS and stringing us along, I'm taking my purchasing power elsewhere (and will be advising others to do the same).

Bud... Unless you have been waiting 5 months to even be able to hope that Jeep would allow you to order your ride (all the while moving the marker) like us CRD guys, I suggest you STFU.

That late June launch for the CRD is a month and a half delay. Nuts. They're going to miss the summer high season for car sales if they're not careful. They're going to miss the time when diesel is cheapest.

They're on the verge of launching a new diesel vehicle heading into the season when diesel is at it's most expensive point relative to gas.

In other words, they're doing everything they can to screw up this launch.

Need a little info, on the bronze colored interior pieces on the console and vent bezels. What models or options determine if your jeep will have these bronze colored trim pieces or not? I am interested in the Laredo E, and I wanna make sure that this trim will NOT be that bronze color. Today I stopped by a dealer window shopping and thought the majority of the 2014's had this bronze colored trim inside, even a Laredo E. Is it based on your interior color, like black interior gets the silver trim, and a tan interior gets the bronze trim?

Go to this Jeep Link for "Interior"
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee | Interior Leather Seats & 6 Speakers | Jeep

Then Scroll Down past the picture of the Seat to just below where it says "Take Control of Comfort" and will show a picture of the Interior Dash area.

You will see 9 Dots at the bottom part of the picture and each Dot shows a different Interior based on the Trim Level you select, Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit etc. That will show you what Trim comes with each available interior color.

Trust me, I'm not settling! I'm happy to buy an Audi diesel but if it was the other way around and they were playing games I'd be saying the same thing about buying a Jeep.

As Milous pointed out earlier they are already building diesels for export and as crash test dummies here in the US. So in my humble opinion this is all games.

How many other makers are offering 2014 models right now, of anything?
