Admittedly, part of this is simply me trying to make myself feel better about not being able to hold out for the 2014s.

You should not hold out ..I think you will be much happier come early next year when you see all the members posting their Jeeps.
I want one right now also but...4-5 months ill have to bite the bullet.for a better product..IMO

I may still end up doing that. The other reason I hesitate to wait by the way is who knows what else is around the corner that I'll be interested in. For example, I'm looking forward to the new XC90 that's due out I believe in 2014.

First things first, I'll have to take a test drive of the 2013 and see how I like it. If I don't like the transmission, I'll wait, or look elsewhere. On the other hand if I like everything about it I might just bite the bullet on a 2013.

And if I should end up doing that, I'll probably try to stay away from this place as much as I can so I don't get buyer's remorse after reading all of the positive comments about the 2014.

There is always going to be something bigger and better around the corner, that happens with almost everything. If you want a 2014, why would you test drive a 2013? That is like testing out a 10 speed compared to a 21 speed bike (granted way more gears).

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee spy pictures

Got some clarification, the headlights are shaped just like the 300 with the LEDs being the same. Tail lights are the same as the Durango tail lights

Because while I want the 2014, I also don't want to wait until February to buy it.

However if I test the 2013 and don't like it, I'd be more willing to wait than I would if I tested it and like it.

That can't be right. New headlight and tail light assembly = new front quarter sheet metal and new liftgate sheet metal. Seems like a lot of work for something that is only going to be manufactured for 2 yrs.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee spy pictures

That's what I'm hearing. The front quarter is a little different and the taillights are definitely from the Durango and that is what Chrysler said. They took the taillights from the Durango and put them on the GC. We'll see I guess...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee spy pictures

DVD palyers are built into the back of the seats, not the headrests and the screen flips up. Audio Inputs are built into the side of the seats.

This doesn't make sense. Not sure why Durango tail lights would be used since the GC is going with LED tail lights. Unless you mean the refreshed 2014 Durango. And then it becomes questionable for the direct sharing of exterior parts--probably not the best idea.

I could buy that the shape of the LEDs within the headlight assembly will be the same as in the 300 (C-shaped). I would doubt the overall housing shape will change as far as the fender and hood areas are concerned, but the lower or inner borders could since we know the grille and front fascia will be getting updates.

All in all, just more reason to await the next round of spy photos or the unveiling in Detroit.

Man It's probably a good thing I wasn't there. I would have been..let's just say excited, but I'm a Jeep nut. The rendering I saw of the headlights was the same shape as the 300 only smaller. And the rendering of the taillights made them larger like the Durango.

The new taillights look very close to the Current Charger's. It goes together very well.
