2014 heated seats question

I test drove a 2014 limited today and noticed the heated seats were moved to the touchscreen. Required 3 taps to turn on which seemed to be very distracting to mess with while driving. (tap climate, then heated seats, then the seat you want to turn on). Does anyone know if there are voice commands to deal with the heated seat? Really miss the climate controls like they are on the 11-13s.

Haven't seen the new UCONNECT yet. With all this stuff I wish they would give you ability to create custom shortcuts on main screen.

Re: 2014 heated seats question

I'll try to have you an answer tomorrow. Everytime I get in my seat is already on aling with the steering wheel. I will say that so far I'm not impressed by the VR. Then again I've not played with that for more than t minutes consecutively.

Re: 2014 heated seats question

I noticed this in the pictures. Seems the more "advanced" these infotainment systems are by absorbing more and more functions, the more complicated it becomes to use basic functions. Luckily, Chrysler seems to be doing a better job at it than Ford.

Re: 2014 heated seats question

I just went through the owners manual. The only ways they mention for turning the heated seats on/off is either with the touch screen, or automatically with remote start.

Re: 2014 heated seats question

I sat down in mine today and hit the VR botton. Proceeded to give the "heated seat on" command. My wife let me know that I was already in the hot seat according to her. Only places to do it is on screen or in the advanced options so they are on when it is started.

Re: 2014 heated seats question

Is it automatic based on temp difference between what you set the heater/a c and what the temp actually is or is it just on or off?

Re: 2014 heated seats question

• Auto-On Driver Heated/Ventilated Seat & Steering
Wheel With Vehicle Start — If Equipped
When this feature is selected the driver’s heated seat and
heated steering wheel will automatically turn on when
temperatures are below 40° F (4.4° C). When temperatures
are above 80° F (26.7° C) the driver vented seat will
turn on. To make your selection, touch the Auto Heated
Seats soft-key, until a check-mark appears next to setting,
showing that setting has been selected. Touch the back
arrow soft-key to return to the previous menu.

(The owners manual is our friend.)
