Just noticed that the new 2014 Grand Cherokee shares design cues with the 2014 MB. Especially check out the rear styling. Interesting the interior color scheme looks exactly like the 2011-2013 Summit.

The redesign does share the same underpinnings as the M class because Mercedes was involved in the development of the 2011 GC. But Mercedes is out.....Fiat is in.......strange that this freshening does share some design cues with Mercedes. The new steering wheel in the 2014 is very simialr. Interesting.

Was comparing with the new 2014. I was unaware that they offered an interior like the Summit (but then again they just announced the 2014, so I guess no one knew).

The news is the similarity/shared design cues continues going forward despite MB out adn Fiat in.

Some of the design elements in the "refresh" could have been on the books for years now, accounting for the similarities you mention, redsox'. But it's also influenced by the fact that the incremental changes also need to be "plug and play" with the platform and sometimes that means, intended or not, the same ideas bubble to the surface. Real divergence remains for the redesign that includes the platform in a few years.

I was looking at a MB at Costco a few weeks ago that was sitting there next to the hot dog stand...remarkably similar, yet still different than my WK2.

In my opinion...the new ML looks like ass..Could be one of the ugliest new offerings out there. Overweight and non descript....no way to describe any enjoyable pleasure in life!!!! Just sayin...
