Okay, I know many of you are laughing but I'm not experienced at snow driving. What could he have done to get himself going without the use of kitty litter or anything like that?

Reading the comments i just saw that his phone drops out of his jacket pocket at 1:30, then driven over time and time again.

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Stuck in Snow

I knew he was set for failure from the angle of his steering (hard left). Snow probably melted just enough to create a massive block of ice/wet snow between his tires. He should have reversed and used someone else's tracks behind him, or rock the car back and forth. He could have reversed and cleared a bit of snow in front of his front wheels using the snow scraper, perhaps air down a bit; anything would have been better than accelerating forward like an orangutang.

The stock tires and screaming pretty much go hand in hand.

As mentioned in last post, just not what this guy did. Once wheels are spinning there's not much happening.

Snow looked impressively deep under the car and looked beached, he must have parked it on top surely.

clear some snow, back up, cler some snow, move forward slow in your tracks, build momentum. rinse, repeat.

A little back and forth on the steering wheel never hurts...sometimes you get some bite out of the side of your tracks instead of the ice slick he created underneath his tires.

Greetings,

This is the best thing to do, back in forth motion (rocking).

Also, if you noticed, he turns the wheel to the max. It is best to turn in small amounts until you get traction. By turning the wheel as he did, the tire is now a plow pushing the snow and given resistance from getting the proper traction in order to get out.

You will notice after he leaves, the right side shows were he developed the real trouble. That is because he plowed himself in. Even though on the video, you see the left tires spin most likely on the black ice patch caused by him. By rocking and small turns of the wheel, you can use the snow to your advantage to gain traction.

Best for now.

Gave me a great laugh - thanks

Goes to show why you should not skimp on tires. They are the final link between all that technology and the road.

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Stuck in Snow

At first I thought, what a dumb ars, doesn't he know how to drive in snow? Then I looked at the wheels and tires and thought, how do you like those Latitudes?
