The premium price is derived from having a diesel CRD engine (torque for offroad), having upgraded rockrails (better than what you get on a Rubi Wrangler, and retail for this Mopar version is a grand), having a modest coil over suspension lift, modifies wheel wells to fit oversized meaty offroad tires (they are Mickey Thompson 35" as compared, say, to a Wrangler Rubi 32"), front AND rear tow hooks (huge improvement), and beefier skid plates than what come on the current ORAII package.

Or at least that is what the prototype has...it hasn't been released OR priced out yet, so I think we are getting ahead of ourselves comparing price points. My guess is it will price out as an Overland if it comes with all that great gear.

Enjoy!

By the way, if you were referring to the current Trailhawk, it is apples and oranges. My Overland with Silent Armor tires and rock sliders is equal to the current Trailhawk minus the hood sticker.

We are discussing the TrailhawkII and the cool improvements made on the prototype shown in March at Moab.

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk

Since this model year came out a little earlier than in the past when do you think any special editions will start? I think last year the trailhawk started in September and was built through Octoberish.

Will the CRD delay have any delay on special editions?

I'm hoping to get my trailhawk II (if that's what they release) before winter.

According to the Milous build order thread, it is likely to come out this Fall...October maybe?

Can't wait....

nothing yet. Keep posted here. I think once the diesel production starts and is going smoothly they will start bringing in special editions. If the hints are accurate we should hear something this week as far as the diesel goes. Then maybe in a month or three we'll hear more solid details.

I am too. I need a couple things in order to pull the trigger: front elsd and lower differential gears (or proof that you can swap the srt8 gears in there). I found my coilovers and I have a plan for body armor and a belly skid
