Even if they had the info, WHICH THEY DON'T they wouldn't and couldn't release it to you.

Just keep posted to this site ( & autoblog) for the most up to date information.

Thanks, 4jeepdiesel! Did not know about autoblog. I'll check it out, as well as here, for any updates.

I first heard about the Jeep getting the diesel 3 years ago (I believe I read it on autoblog). I did not yet know of this site so they may have had it posted here as well at that time. My point is that even earlier this year (Jan/Feb) I had a salesman tell me that the diesel wasn't going to be here in the US at all. Either he was clueless or just wanted me to buy a non-diesel. I'm going to bet that he was clueless because I made it clear to him that I wasn't in the market for a new vehicle at that time.

Autoblog is a pretty cool site because if you love cars they talk about everything. This site is really awesome because it's interactive & specialized to the Jeep brand.

I'm probably more obsessed about the Trailhawk II than anyone on this site as I'd like to claim that it was my idea to build a special edition that was blacked out with orange paint. I posted a comment on this site about a year ago. Maybe the design team read it...maybe they didn't.

They probably did read it and base it off your comment. I bet you have a free one coming your way the day its released, since you practically designed it

I wouldn't call it blacked out... Its orange with black tires and black fender molding. Everything else is titanium/dark grey.

I wish they'd send me a free one like they did with the guy who named last year's "Altitude" but I doubt it.

I also wish that I could sit in on the design process. That would be sweet!

I was just re-reading the posts on this thread for a little refresher on what was and wasn't talked about for the 2014 GC Trailhawk II.

Even though it's officially unconfirmed, Scottina had previously stated that Ralphy boy has already confirmed that it will make production.
See post above #90 page 8 of this thread.

As far as modifications, i'd modify the jeep extensively, but leave the Trailhawk II alone for the most part.

Either vehicle will be used in snow a lot for DD because I plan to move to the Park City or Boulder area. Either will be used for long road trips so they must be comfortable on road. Towing will be under 3k lbs with an expedition type trailer eventually and a boat occasionally.

Both have their strong points and my wants seem fall in the middle....I like the fact that I can have the baddest factory off roader made which is comfortable enough to be DD, but I also like the fact I can have a super comfortable and luxurious DD which is also better than pretty much every SUV offroad.
I was in the same dilemma before I ordered my GC Diesel Summit. In fact, I will be trading in my Rubicon Unlimited for it. I figure with off-road tires, my GC Diesel can do 90% of what my Rubicon could do, save the rock-crawling which I only do 1-2 times per year anyway. The other 99% of my driving will be better suited for the GC.

I was basically building my Rubicon up with larger tires and lift, etc. Then I finally realized I was building a vehicle for something I would use it for less than 1% of the time. The GC Diesel will suit me overall much better.

I'm looking to buy a JGC CRD. I had an Overland, or Summit, set in my mind. But then I saw the '14 Diesel TrailHawk concept, and knew that I wanted to put a hold on my purchase, at least until I had a chance to see/test drive, the production TH II!

Does anyone have any more recent info as to when/if the diesel TH2 will be available, this model year?
I was possibly going to do the same thing. Then I found Rocky Road Outfitters web site and I am pretty much buying everything they offer. My GC will pretty much be a Trailhawk II on steroids. Not to mention the real THII will not look like that concept with 35" tires. No way will they put anything close to that tire size on it and will mostly be cosmetic stuff IMO.

I agree with you that they won't put 35's on it.
What mods will RR Outfitters do for you & roughly what would that cost?

Also...to Milous et al.... any more recent sightings of the TH2?
We're all hoping for an update here pretty soon.

Yeah, the TH2 tidbits are itty bitty and too far between. What say you Milous?

Is there a chance we might get some info on the Trailhawk this month? Is there a set schedule for press releases/updates from Jeep? I was hoping with it being the beginning of the month and a new quarter we might get some news.

That's EXACTLY what I am thinking and hoping. I'm going to check the "features and changes" topic to see if Milous has posted an update.

If not, Scottina should post the press release today.

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk

sorry...there is no press release. I have some friends in Detroit who have seen what they thought were TH2's...but no confirmation other than that. We have been told there will be a TH2...but when? No idea. Theres tons of factors right now....one being they are selling 15k per month of the 14's. Another being the release of the diesel. It may be 15 before we see a TH2? That's just a guess though
