A couple people know but they're not spilling any more info.
You know the Altitude 2 is coming out, are there any other details on that?

Yes, the Altitude 2 is coming out- should be here around spring (March/April).

So based on that info & that Marlon JB 2 was "surprised" to see what was being tested has me believe that it isn't the Altitude 2.
I think his quote was along the lines of "I knew it was coming but I never expected it this soon".

I would think the upcoming "pilot build" isn't of something that has a planned release set yet.

Anyone else have any thoughts or opinions?

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk

Haven't heard or seen anything about a 2014 or 2015 Trailhawk.

I mean come on, do you guys honestly think we would be 100% quiet about that?

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk

I'm not overly confident that they will build a new Trailhawk given that they only built 2000 units of the 2013 Trailhawk and there are still some on the lots (a lot of the last 2013s in my area were/are Trailhawks).

However, I REALLY want them too.

Re: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk

There were no buyers for the vehicle. It would have succeeded MUCH more if it was just an appearance package.

Who's going to pay over $40k for a Laredo with an air suspension that they are never going to use?

As a matter of fact, if that suspension wasn't forced down the throats of Overland and Summit owners (and SOME Limiteds), it probably would have been eliminated by the 2012 model year.

When i ordered mine there were no Trailhawks
If there were i would have gone that way for sure
If you don't build the, they will not be able to be sold.
I don't think there are any left in Australia

I've always wondered about why they have forced QL on some Limited configurations, made standard on Overland, Summit and Trailhawk. The ride quality is much better with QL, but it seems it should be an "a la carte" option or part of an extra "luxury or off-road package". I wonder if this will cross over into the next generation GC or if they will release a whole new type of suspension. Things that make you go hmmmm.

Also, I wasn't trying to insult anyone.

We all have to remember that we are enthusiasts here.

We do not represent the market as a whole.

To the market, a Trailhawk was a Laredo with a self-lift-kit.

Well that's simple. They wanted to offer it but it was expensive. The only way to do so is to make it standard on the most expensive trim levels. This way people would be forced into it vs. nobody actually buying it. Makes it affordable to build. Buying parts in high quantities, making it part of people's jobs on the line, etc...

You should see the equipment required just for Quadra-Lift. I know that had to cost serious cash. LOTS of serious cash. The plant had to be retooled to handle it. There's a lot more to it than the eye can see.

That's what makes me mad! When it comes time to sell it, it'll be hard to get anything more than what a Laredo would be. Because technically speaking, my sticker says Laredo on it. I really wish these special editions were in a category of their own. Especially with only 2,000 made in 4 or 5 colors. That's very limited numbers if you ask me. Guess I'll just have to hold on to it until my son can drive... In 15 years
