Could use a little reassurance I've done the right thing.
As I might have posted earlier, I traded my 2011 V6 Limited on a 2014 V6 Overland that I ordered and received the end of July. So far I have had zero troubles with it after 4,200 miles. I too was a bit worried after reading about the troubles a few have had. But I would do it again as I really like this 2014 Overland. Al

I have actually owned two (yes 2) 2014 JGC's. The first one was a v6 limited, with a May 2013 build date. It had a blackout issue on the electronic dash, which was fixed via a November 2013 recall. It was no big deal to me, the software update fixed it. I realized that I had to have the LED headlights and v8 so traded it in for a V8 Overland which has been awesome in every way. In my assessment the drivetrain is solid, and the transmission does have its own pedigree. As far as small issues (rattles, electronics, etc)... I am not concerned. Just buy one! I'm loving mine.

New Jeeps are pretty reliable. As long as you have a warranty you should be fine. In the end every single car brand has ran into issues so don't think that if you opt for a different brand you would avoid problems. Just go get it and you won't regret it! Good luck

Re: 2014 jeep overland

Sorry for the off topic question, but what's the advantage of getting the summit over the overland? And did any of you that got the 5.7L consider getting the SRT8?

Re: 2014 jeep overland

The Summit gives you a slightly nicer interior with "suede like headliner", Harmon Kardon sound system, the advanced technology package, adaptive headlights with washers, unique polished 20" wheels and the unique body package, along with the Quadra-Drive II electronic locking rear diff - pretty much every available option. It is NOT available with the off road packages, but I am sure you could add the shields and probably the tow hooks as well if that matters to you. I would have considered the Summit, but my wife had to have the light colored interior with light carpet, and that meant Overland.

As for the SRT, it is a considerable increase over the Overland or Summit, and to me I would rather have a sports car than a 5200lb sports SUV. Most of the options on the SRT are standard on the Summit. I can get a used Cayman to play with in the canyons for price difference over an Overland or Summit; and I may just be doing that. If I could have just one vehicle, the SRT would be pretty cool. YMMV.

Re: 2014 jeep overland

So far (about 500 miles), my Overland has been perfect. Every feature works perfectly and I have tested everything I can think of. Mine's a November build and I believe they have worked out the initial issues they were having.
