Re: 2014 JGC - Tow Mirrors?

Do these mirrors vibrate any? I have a set, with my current truck, and they vibrate like crazy, I was thinking of getting the McKesh mirrors, but if these are more stable on the Jeep, I will reconsider this.

At 70 they barely move (sometimes a little with wind but the most stable I have used). My biggest complaint with any add on mirrors has been wind noise though and these are silent!

Thanks for the quick reply. Saved me about $150.

Are these the mirrors?

JR Products 2899 Aero 2 Towing Mirror - Pair : Amazon.com : Automotive

Looks a lot easier to install than my Mckesh mirrors.. I may pick up a set for those short trips I take instead of installing the Mckesh since it's a process.

That definitely looks like them. They are so easy to use. I went through 2 other types that I hated before these (I am very picky about a silent drive while towing).

Re: 2014 JGC - Tow Mirrors?

I have a 2014 JGC with a Penstar 6, I just purchased a 21-8 foot Airstream Bambi, with a break controller and an equalizer hitch. I have towed about 500 miles thus far with no real problems. The Jeep has a 6200 ib tow rating. I worked with Jeep dealer to establish Jeep capabilities and limitations. The trailer weighs in at 3700 Lbs dry and about 4300 loaded. I have an aftermarket hitch, the jeep was prewired, but required activation of the wiring harness $90.00 by the Jeep dealer. I need bigger mirrors, any suggestions. Very limited aftermarket choices.

Mckesh mirrors would be my recommendation. They are solid, very little wind noise. No complaints with mine except the setup time being a bit longer. I've got it down to a quick process now in how I pack them up when I am done with them.

They are a little spendy, but meh.. Grand scheme of things, it's peanuts.

Just upgraded to a Motorhome now, so no more need to tow - But had a lot of good times with the Travel Trailer.

You do not have a 6200 lb limit with an aftermarket hitch receiver that only comes with the factory tow option which is more than just the hitch receiver and wiring. 5000 lbs is the limit. (although some manuals say 3500)
