Ya that is pretty good for an SRT!

At just over 2600 miles, very smooth in either ECO or Sport mode.
Initially rough at delivery, reset by dealer at a couple hundred miles.

It seems to have learned my preferences, where even with the traditional Mopar quick throttle at tip in, normal driving will up three gears so quickly at lights you don't even notice them unless you watch the tach.

On mountain roads, with not that bad a drop in mileage, the sport mode is nice for keeping it in aero height... and sport definitely makes a huge difference in quick uphill passes with the Hemi. It tends to shift a tad
early in eco mode when you stomp on it to get past the flatlander terrified of being on a road with no siderails -- or not much of anything for a thousand feet or so.

Not a stupid question... Good Question!

I need to look that up, I am fairly confident there is NO MDS in sport however I as I do not know the correct answer I will look into this!

Unhappy Re: 2014 JGC Transmission Survey

I traded in my 2011 v6 5spd because it shifted rough and was clunky.I picked up a 2014 overland v6 the first week it came out. I can't believe its doing the same thing. When you start to slow down you feel every down shift way to firmly and then you get a clunk about half the time.123 shifts up or down is horrible in any mode. I will admit sometimes you can't feel a thing and you say to yourself how did it get up to 7 at 30 mph. I think I'm going to dump it and get a manual wrangler or something else. Whoever gave the final OK for the power train and the whole vehicle should be fired. The dealer tried to reset it but that didn't help. Everything else is great its an awesome vehicle. But it can't do the simple things. My other vehicle is a 2012 Durango v8 that old 6spd is way smoother.

Re: 2014 JGC Transmission Survey

Since its only happened few times at very low speeds I answered I'm happy with 8 speed trans. Just over 2000 miles. Build date late May. Drive mostly in Eco mode.

No problem, how many times can we vote?

You sound like a politician.

I know this isn't a big sample in the scheme of things, but even if it isn't skewed just by being the internet, Chrysler has some work to do on those V6 versions of the transmission. The negative percentages are unacceptably high by any standard. Doing the poll makes it much clearer than anecdotal evidence.

Politician ?

As for the Transmission issues, I agree, it is nice to see the trend and yes it is an unacceptable one for the V6. There is a lot of other good data here too... as in about double the V6 Drivers are generally pleased vs not (I was actually expecting more negative with the number of threads about the V6 Trans.). It should be taken as a reminder to those who have a V6 that shifts rough that yes we see a trend here but about double the amount of people with a problem are reasonably or very pleased with the Transmission. In other words, it isn't everyone, so don't assume that other peoples complaints will drive the fix, make sure you go to your dealer, duplicate the problem and have it documented.

The overwhelming majority of the V8 Drivers are very happy with the new Transmission setup, which is interesting in itself. It is a contrast to the V6 showing that it is not just the "number of gears" or "early downshifts" that are causing the negative feedback on the V6. Both Transmissions contain a very similar programming and for all intents the "same" learning capabilities. So it is not the concept around the design of the 845RE that is the issue.

I want people to keep voting on this and let us get as many good votes as possible. My note from post one, it is best to let people vote after they have driven the vehicle for a while as there are those who have found it improved with driving and some who have seen it progressively get worse. I think the most important thing a person with a V6 that is having issues to take away from the POLL is that there is this huge contrast between 2 transmissions that are essentially the same (different input torque spec). That is what I would point to when someone questions the sampling group here at JeepGarage. If you skew that our group will tend to be more negative about things, how does Chrysler explain the rave reviews of the 8HP70 vs the disappointing Chrysler built 845RE? We should have about the same opinion of the two, as functionally they SHOULD be very similar.

Anyway, I will be shamelessly promoting this thread for a little while and all you like minded "politicians" should do the same. Everyone who hangs around here AND owns a 2014 Jeep Grand, needs to vote, so we can all see the numbers.

Thank You, and come elections day I will... wait that is another speech

That is a ridiculously low standard that allows 1/3 of the product to be unacceptable. The V6 is a night mare and may get worse as people accumulate miles. Who the heck would buy a V6 if they thought there was a 1/3 chance the transmission would be bad?

Have you ever heard of six sigma as a goal where only one in a million is defective? The V8 data is not good but not absolutely horrible either, but I certainly would not brag about it.
