The uConnect manuals are now available for download.

Happy reading.

The fob has a passive RFID tag in it. Great technology that is used literally everywhere these days.

Check this out

I had this happen on my 2010 Maxima. According to this Altima board, the culprit could either be Brake switch or master cylinder (there was another regard "Steering Wheel Lock" showing similar symptoms)

What happens when you press the Start button? Does it cycle through ACC, ignition then off? Do you hear it crank when you press start? I actually had this happen to my Maxima a month or two ago-lights go on but started to flicker and engine would not turn-at some point I couldn't depress the brake pedal. (I realized that I may have caused it by shutting down the engine too early without going to a full stop once I shift to Park)

I could be wrong (being a non-MY14 JGC Owner yet) but thought I'd share some info/insight I've gotten from my last 2 Keyless-Push Button start vehicle (Altima and Maxima)

I'm happy to hear it started this time. I had a feeling it was related to girlie foot pressure (just kidding). While it is normal for the pedal to be much firmer when the vehicle is not running, you shouldn't have to push to the point of feeling like the pedal will break. It could possibly be an issue with the brake booster. The booster works off vacuum and perhaps it is bleeding-down after sitting a few days. It is normal to bleed-down somewhat after a few days, but still shouldn't require excessive pressure like you explained. If you continue to have this problem, you might consider a trip to the service department. Could also be as simple as a brake switch adjustment since you said the pedal went down about 3/4" and still didn't start. Do the brake lights come on with slight pressure on the pedal?

Ha. Haha. That's funny.

I never checked if brake lights come on. It took me a few seconds to realize what exactly happened. I don't have the patience to give up the truck for a week to service but this might have narrowed it down enough. I'll keep playing and keep you in the loop.

Truck had accessories turn on, light up, and by pushing the button again it would just turn off. So it seems like the brake wasn't engaged to actually start the vehicle. Brake booster could be the case because it only happens after the truck sits for 3 days.

Let us know what happens after sitting this weekend.

Re: 2014 jgc wont start after sitting all weekend

Sounds like the brake pedal switch is just adjusted too tight. Unfortunatly all I found in the FSM was "adjust". Ususally the switch just screws in and out of the bracket to adjust. Anyone know.

Perhaps the same day you still have some residual brake pressure to make the moement easy and after a weekend it has all bled down.

Did not drive mine yesterday and still had some residual boost that went away quickly.

Did notice something very odd though: all of my other cars turn the brake lights on when the pedal is pressed and Florida law says "Two red stoplights. They must be seen from 300 feet in the daytime, and must come on when the foot brake is pressed. "

The odd thing about the WK2 is that the brake lights only come on if the fobik is present and the ignition is on, just pressing the brake with the vehicle off does nothing. Potentially this could be a real issue if the computer fails and you lose all lights while driving. Is there a fail-safe here ? One of the diagnostics for no brake lights is TIPM inputs or outputs.
