Some car makers allow you to add the HID's as a standalone option for around $750, not bundled together in a 4K package which is stupid.
It is stupid, hence why I spent $90 and just put HIDs in my wife's.

It's easy to upgrade. There are plug and play kits out there but if you only spend $70 you're getting a pretty cheap one.

Once you upgrade you'll never want a car without HIDs again. I can't show you on a Jeep but I've got a shot from the HIDs I installed on a car of mine. With a pnp kit you just mount the ballast, in this case I put them in the fenders so they're out of the way. Plug the original headlight plug into the kit for power and then put the bulb in. It's very simple.

Do you have a link to a kit for the WK2?

Re: 2014 Limited Headlights

This sucks to have to worry about crappy headlights on a $40k+ truck. I really couldn't swing another $4k, and I really don't want to mess with putting in a new system but I'm a fanatic about bright headlights. Theres a good thread on here on how to intall and which ones to go with. 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation

Sorry I've never looked into it since I'm getting HIDs on the Limited. I've seen a thread or two you could find though. Probably something in the vendor section as well.

My ddm kits look identical to other more expensive kits and I have had them on my fusion for almost 3 years now and have had 1 bad ballast, I like the fact they come wit a lifetime warranty vs everywhere else that only comes with a year or 2.

Re: 2014 Limited Headlights

A high-end HID kit from Xenon Depot (one of this site's preferred vendors or whatever) runs about $250, even with paying for professional installation that's a far cry from springing for the whole advanced tech package.

2014 Halogen Bulb Upgrade!

This was my pic I posted a while ago after buying Osram nightbreaker plus bulbs off amazon... Huge difference. Yes you will need to replace them, but I turned off daytime running light option to extend the life. These bulbs are 62 watt bulbs vs. the standard 55w bulb that is included. IT is a mostly uncoated (no blue filter) bulb so you get all the addtional light from them that the increased wattage provides.

Highly recommend the upgrade.

You will need to watch this video to understand how to get at those bulbs tho, it's very tight in there:

Are you sure about that ? Cause I got the same thing (Limited, Lux II Pkg) and mine do not turn when turning the steering wheel.

Re: 2014 Limited Headlights

That's a good idea. At least Jeep put projectors instead of reflectors. I hate seeing folks that put hid kits on reflector housings. There is just too much scatter.

Re: 2014 Limited Headlights

Just one note about that. There are differences in the projectors between HIDs and halogens. The pnp kit will not equal a factory HID kit. Still a large improvement over halogen. Also after doing that you'll pay the extra on your next car purchase for the stock hids.

Well, I *think* they do. Going out of town tomorrow. Will double check after I get back and post for sure if they do or not.
