Well, you could buy a Porsche and have your engine self destruct and have them tell you tough beans.
You have a few options.
One, if you are nervous about a major problem, good luck with finding a non-problem brand.
Two, if you are nervous about niggling problems, I'd only shop at a dealer you trust, with a good service reputation instead of looking thru three states to get the lowest price.
Three, buy a minivan.
There do appear to be a few common problems. If any of them would cause you to walk away--may be best if you do so.
- V6 8 speed transmission. New code available, dunno if 100%. Also may be owners not used to having dog clutches in their automatic transmission to reduce
losses and increase mileage.
- Instrument Cluster. Can go blank on you. There is a flash in the recall, don't
know effective build dates yet.
- Bogus MIL. If it isn't flashing, keep driving it may just go away.
- UConnect. OK, to be fair, even Microsoft might be embarassed, but you'd have to
decide if some of the phone interop issues or failure to cool your heinie with
the remote start are showstoppers, presuming remote start is legal to use in
?= thought read somewhere that the Hemi on regular can have driveability issues
and that there's also a pcm flash for that, but don't recall if affects '14
It does appear that despite reports, folks are working on the software issues discovered.
None of them are enough of a bother to me, your mileage may vary.
