Eek!! That is a big
concern for me. I live about 70 yards from the ocean and everything rusts in the blink of an eye. In fact that's the main reason I'm looking for a new vehicle right now.
I've been shoveling up bits of my Explorer from the driveway for the last year or so. The rear door is now completely rusted shut, the power steering lines have rusted through, the a/c rusted and locked up, last time the shop tried to take the wheels off they needed a hammer and chisel to separate the wheel from the hub. Last time I picked it up from the shop the mechanic said "no more! Get a new vehicle." He made veiled threats of sneaking in and dragging it off to the junk yard for my own good.
Are there any better options for side steps?
