Ok, we get it. You like the Subaru. Isn't there a Subaru forum?

Let's see hand stitched leather throughout with open pore wood accents with one of the best designed center stack, instrument cluster/infotainment systems in the world with alcantara pillars and headliner, heated and ventilated seats with 19-speaker H/K audio

For $55 large. Sorry, the center stack on the jeep is far from the best in the world. Especially the entertainment system. You need to het out more. Go sit in a new A6. Jeeps are good for mid $40's. That's it. I'm happy with mine, but I don't pretend that it is something it is not. It needs to lose a lot of cheap plastic to be what you are claiming.

Its getting knocked for off-road capability, but its proven itself for years and had the same ground clearance as the non-air suspension jeep. It gets knocked for having a CVT, yet no one here has driven it. Motortrend said it was the best CVT they have driven. Someone said that the gas mileage of the diesel is the same as the Forester, but that is the turbo model that's quicker than a Hemi. It also costs less than a Laredo when you load it up in top trim. Yes its no contest for the jeep in a true off road environment, but few owners of either will ever go off road. We were actually thinking of getting the new forester as a second car for my wife. Seeing this makes me want to consider it even more. I know this is a jeep forum, but Subarus always have been great vehicles.

If you prefer a cheap looking station wagon then I would agree the Forester is the way to go. I have not driven a Forester but I have driven other vehicles with a CVT and in my opinion they are garbage. I watched the motor trend video and I still cannot understand how they arrived at their decision I do know that the one guy seemed very biased from the start and that may have played a role in it. The Jeep does have the best interior for the price you are going to find and the A6 you mention is not an SUV but a 4 door sedan the last time I saw one.

Thats funny johnc...the jeep interior won an award for one of the 10 best interiors in the world by wards.....seems like no one else agrees with u. The subaru looks like its from the late 80s. I get differing opinions...but please. Also the 8.4a uconnect has won similar awards for being the best in the auto industry.

You need to do more research. The 8.4 system has praised by many a reviewer as being more advanced, easy to use and overall a better experience than the systems used in everything from Mercs to Audis to Lexus, almost always in more expensive vehicles to boot.

I just watched the whole video. This Kim guy, what a joke... Where did they find him

As much as I like motortrend (and Subarus) I agree the Forrester is not even in the same league...

That's funny cause my friend's 2010 Audi S4 MMI was ...probably less intuitive for the advanced functions yet harbored more trick functions and customizations. And it is RELIABLE which is hardly something you can praise UCONNECT for. And even "intuitive" is something I sometimes have difficulty associating UCONNECT with. It is definitely NOT intuitive to relegate heated/vented seats to SOFT commands nor is it intuitive to put the mirror dimming button on the same screen as the heated/vented seats option. It is not something you flick on/off day in and day out - yet you stand a chance to miss-touch then wonder why you get blinded at night...Why wasn't it placed on the same menu as the start-up heated driver's seat and wheel?

Because you set it once and forget about it. That's the nice thing about a Jeep - user friendly

Re: 2014 Motor Trend SUVOTY

If it can't tow a boat, it's not a SUV - With out the "U" for utility, it just a sport vehicle, thus it should not be compared to a Jeep.

That is because it is not. But it is $25k more. My partner has a 2013 sc and he went for a drive in my 2014 SRT today and said the SRT is much quicker then his RR. When I punched it he wanted out. My, totally stock, SRT does 0-60 in 4.6 sec several times now without having to use launch control and can do under 5 sec with little effort.
