Anyone know if you will be able to order a 14 for sure in Jan.?

I called a local Jeep dealer and of course salesman was totaly clueless of their own products... I hung up in his face

December 5th is when the ordering for MY14 opens.

12/5 is the currently scheduled order open date, but it is still tentative and subject to change.

This always amazes me. How can anybody be so clueless about the product they sell? Even if Jeep isn't feeding them information directly, it seems like they would at least be interested enough to do a little research on their own. At least I would, but maybe that's just me.

Just curious how are the order banks going to open before the car even makes its debut? So people ordering on 12/5 or later will be ordering a vehicle they have technically never been able to see or drive? Kinda weird if you ask me. I mean I know its just a mid-cycle refresh, but from whats been said its a significant refresh and enough so that it would be tough to order without even seeing whats its going to look like, or how the 8speed tranny will be.

I'm just guessing, but I think most (not all) of the initial orders will be for dealer inventory.

Oh ok yeah I guess that makes sense. I am excited for the 2014 and I am very confident that I will like everything about it, but I for sure know I need to drive the 3 engine types to see how they are especially with the new transmission. I have a 2012 Overland V6 now, and im not sure if I would buy the V6 again, unless that new 8 speed really helps it out.

Just go drive one other make/model that has the 8 speed. The 300 is a good one to also see the NAV. But to get the 8 speed in another SUV you can go drive a Landrover or I believe BMW and Mercedes has it.
In regards to the diesel, the best feel would be the Touareg.

I'm sure if you ordered one and then the dealer actually took delivery on one before yours came in and you test drove it and hated it I'm sure there's a policy that would protect you from having to buy it.

I'm with JTS. I will order only after I test a 2014 V8 Overland. If I like it I'll order one. If not I'll move on. I don't need to be the first one on the block to have one.

YEs it was like that when I ordered my 2012 SRT8 Cherokee.was just going on what i read and pics online.

Where's the best place to find out if/when the order banks open for the various 2014 Grand Cherokee models?

If the banks open on 12/5, how soon would i be driving it?
