This always amazes me. How can anybody be so clueless about the product they sell? Even if Jeep isn't feeding them information directly, it seems like they would at least be interested enough to do a little research on their own. At least I would, but maybe that's just me.
Just curious how are the order banks going to open before the car even makes its debut? So people ordering on 12/5 or later will be ordering a vehicle they have technically never been able to see or drive? Kinda weird if you ask me. I mean I know its just a mid-cycle refresh, but from whats been said its a significant refresh and enough so that it would be tough to order without even seeing whats its going to look like, or how the 8speed tranny will be.
I'm with JTS. I will order only after I test a 2014 V8 Overland. If I like it I'll order one. If not I'll move on. I don't need to be the first one on the block to have one.
Yes, new Ram has the same R4 radio. 5.7L will be quickest Overland, 0-60 times will be improved w/8 speed but to what extent I do not know, have not seen those specs. The sooner you order the better, and of course with special order you get it configured exactly as you want vs trying to find same options/colors on one in dealer inventory.
If you're concerned about that get the SRT Hemi or a CRD (although you'd have to wait on that for awhile). I'm sure you can pick up a 2013 MY Hemi at a better deal now.
Who do you guys recommend ordering from, as a lot of people have found the local dealers are clueless. I am looking to pre-order a SRT8. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Robert

I will post this in a few different areas, but for all forum members I will have special pricing on the 2014s.
If you are a member of Tread Lightly or have Affiliate Rewards thru your employer I will be selling all new 2014 GC Laredo/Limited/Overland/Overland Summit at invoice less 2%. I will only do 8 of these deals per month for the first 3 months. I can not do the SRTs at that price because they do not qualify for the AR programs.
I am interested in placing an order for either a 2014 overland or summit. I live in St Charles so making a courtesy delivery should be cake. Just kidding,
I noticed today that WK2Jeeps.com now shows "January" as when the order banks open. I found a dealer in Oak Ridge Tenn that is a gearhead and said that often we get info on the internet that is more current than what he is provided. He logs on to the Jeep dealer website about every day and gets a status but it is not all inclusive. He did see where they stopped taking orders for the 2013 SRT8's on 10/30. I am planning to place an order as soon as the banks open and an MSRP is set. Any info that you folks have will be appreciated
It looks like the 12/5 date is now "Jan" --- Oh well the planned production start is the important date. I think sitting in the 2012 and reading the changes is enough. I can't wait to order mine!
I am hearing that the Diesel engine will not be shipping in vehicles until June/July. Is that accurate? Also, do you guys think that the diesel engine is worth the $4k price tag over the new V6?
