Bazinga! I was luckily enough to get the multi-purpose model. She also overcomes the previously reported A pillar/side mirror blind spot.

The online manual (which has many more pages than mine) matches my touch screen controls exactly, but still refers to the button for disabling park sense. Looks like I'll have to visit the dealer.

Having both a trailer and a bike rack that set off the alarm, I won't be happy if there is no way to turn it off. (Maybe Jeep decided to hide it next to the non-existent off button for the radio -- don't get me started on that one -- too late.)

Update: Jeep Customer Care did a bit of research & said that all info they have says if Parksense is installed, the button to disable it will be in the row with the ECO button. They saw no indication of a design change.

My local dealer said the one in their showroom has the button, but thought maybe mine is supposed to be different.

Stopped by a dealer near work. Service referred me to sales. Sales got in and tried without luck to find an alternate option in the dash and touch-screen settings. He looked at 2 similar models with Parksense (not Summits) -- both had buttons. Interior photos of Summits he had also shows the button. He referred me back to service to compare my switch-plate to the factory build-list for my VIN.

I have an appt with my local dealer next week to do just that. Will update again after.

You most likely got the wrong bezel installed. The ics should have the off button. The dealer will need to order one.

not_too_shabby has a brilliant future
Maybe they removed the buttons and added the on/off to the uconnect system but shipped the vehicle with an older software version?

Re: 2014 Overland "Parksense" and trailers

A 4WD JGC was delivered in Australia with the "launch control" button installed where the "low range" button should have been, so strange things like this have happened before

Cheers,
Steve

Just curious, did it actually operate the low range though?

Yes, it was just the button cover which was wrong. I think the owner was disappointed

Re: 2014 Overland "Parksense" and trailers

The dealer just confirmed that my Summit has the wrong "Center Stack Control" installed -- appears to be a Laredo part.

Replacement part is ordered with all four buttons described in the manual.

Wondering now what other parts may be wrong or missing -- like the "off" button for the radio, the comfortable highway ride button, the make the ringing in my ears from the power steering unit stop button, and... wait... launch control?! I definitely want one of those!
