Define "complainers" please because I hope you're not grouping everyone with more serious vehicle issues into this catagory.

My first early build 2014 GC Limited was such a piece of shit I had to get rid of it, and I'm feeling like a fool getting another later build 2014 GC because I'm having transmission issues once more.

You only hear people when they complain...
I'm looking forward to becoming a proud new JGC Overland owner in November, and this forum for me, sold it.
I have also been on the Toyota forums (looking at a Prado) and it's the same gripes there, but I found Jeep owners to more passionate about there vehicle, and were more willing to help.
Nearly became a Jeep Cherokee owner back in 2005 but the rear door opened the wrong way. Fickle, eh!

Re: 2014 Overland Review

Another vote for a satisfied owner.

I have an Overland Ecodiesel since December 2013 mostly used as my weekend car for the family with 6000miles and one single visit to the dealer for an oil change. Trouble-free, joy-full!!!

Re: 2014 Overland Review

Still loving our JGC Overland Diesel

10500 problem free miles on the ODO and getting ready for a 2500 mile road trip to FL.

Did my own oil and filter change at 6500 and fitted a Qwik Drain (Fumoto) valve. Checked the cabin filter at 10k, still good.

No issues, drives like a dream, gets great gas mileage.

This was our first Jeep. So far we are extremely satisfied plus this was the best dealer experience I've ever had at Helfman River Oaks Houston.

Re: 2014 Overland Review

Hey GCLimited, I said most, not all ....sure there are some serious issues and if you're having one I'm sorry, in fact if I had a serous issue with a car, I doubt I'd be brave enough to take another chance on one. That being said, I still contend that poor dealer service compounds problems and frustrates owners more than "build" issues alone.

Are your trans issues the same between both the early and late builds?

Hmmm.....just to play devil's advocate here--you went from a basically stripped down model to one loaded up with options. You know, air suspension, giant sunroof with motorized shade, power folding mirrors, heated and ventilated seats, etc... So your "new" vehicle has much more to potentially go wrong with it. Now I'm not trying to be a negative Nancy here (I just purchased a 2015 Overland myself), but I'd think that a Laredo would be likely to have a greater chance of having no issues just because there's less stuff to break in the first place.

Re: 2014 Overland Review

I hear you....you're right about that....the Loredo had few options except tow package and 8.4 with nav and 18 in tires....and of course the Overland is loaded with tech which is potential trouble....but I have a dog and the cloth seats were a disaster....actually I wanted to upgrade to a limited....but I got a reasonably good deal on the Overland and when my wife saw the indigo/brown interior, case closed. Plus, I don't keep vehicles too long, so I'm probably gonna replace it in a few years, hopefully before anything too expensive wears out.

My early build 2014 Limited had a rough shifting from day one. After many re-flashes it helped, but it still shifted poorly (in all gears...up or down)...never "normal" like I've experienced with other brand vehicles.

My later build 2014 Overland shifted PERFECTLY until about 5,000 miles then all of a sudden at times it slams into first downshifting while crawling in bumper to bumper traffic. I have a Star Case right now with Chrysler, and we are working on a resolution.
