Re: 2014 Overland test drive. Review and pics of Granite exterior. Amazing!!!

JTS97Z28, I have a question about the black interior. I've seen it at the car show, but my dealer didn't have one on the lot when I ordered. In the harsh lighting of the car show it looked almost like a very dark charcoal grey. Out in the daylight does it look like that, or true black?

Re: 2014 Overland test drive. Review and pics of Granite exterior. Amazing!!!

yeah not all LED setups are dots. For example my 08 Acura TL uses diffusers over the LED brake lamp LED boards. So you still get the brightness and instant on/off of LED's, but don't get that full out "Audi" look. For anyone that is interested in installing an actual LED brake and turn lamp, DO NOT get one of those tower LED things that has like 90 some lights facing outward. They suck and do not utilize the reflector housing properly. Not only that, but they are extremely dim in any sort of day light conditions. This new product from VLED's is amazing. They are called the V3 Triton's. They are a fully plug and play system with three extremely high powered LED's that utilize a lens that in turn functions similar to an incandescent bulbs output charecteristics. I have them in the front park/turn signals and rear turn signals on my 08 TL and they are hands down the best aftermarket LED's made. They are not some cheap made bulbs and they will cost you a pretty penny, but to me they were well worth it. These could be the perfect solution for the WK2 guys.

The interior is 100% jet black. Not even close to a touch of gray. So like you said it must have somehow been the unique lighting of the autoshow. The interior looked soooooo good.

Great, just what I wanted to hear! Now if they could just get some billet silver for the skin, the fine lads at JNAP could send it down the line and on it's way home.

most people havent got a clue about leds they wouldnt notice the difference if you pointed it out to them. Im on the opposite side i cant understand why everyone wouldnt want them. I fell in love with them when the cadillac first put them on their sedan de villes in the late 90s or early 2000s.

In addition i love the trails they leave in my eyes at night which remind me of my youth if ya know what i mean

BOOO on "no flipper glass"...very poor decision. I'd much rather have this than the larger rear spoiler. I'm quite positive the rear glass will still get filthy. What's the purpose of the larger spoiler?

I also do not like all black interiors. They are dreary and depressing to me. I prefer some tan on the pillars and roof. Oh well, that's more of a reason to keep mine longer.

Hate seat belts because they wrinkle your clothes? Hate ABS because when you hammer the brake pedal it pulses? Hate xenons because they shine brightly in your eyes?

You hate LED brake lights because they light up instantly? In case you didn't know, that's the whole point; to inform the drivers behind you that you are braking sooner than incandescant bulbs.

OK, you make a very good point, and I was rearended recently after braking with the stock incandescant bulbs.

Even though I still think Jeep is being cheap by not installing all LED taillights on the 14 WK2, I doubt in your case that having LED brake lights would have made any difference . But you were probably being sarcastic.
