Well, Monday I pick it up!
What should I look for before "accepting" it?
I am paying cash for it and will keep it until the wheels stop spinning so I am VERY picky and have already turned one vehicle down (not a delivery just one sitting on a dealer lot) that had a very bad day in the paint booth as it had all kinds of dirt/debris underneath the paint in very visible spots.
Even though I, for the first time in my life, opted for the Mopar MVP MaxCare Lilfetime/Unlimited Bumper To Bumper extended warranty I want to start out right. FYI, I got it for $1,985 from my local dealer when I laid on them the online price from Chrysler extended warranty, Factory backed extended warranties for Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles
of $2,245 ($2,435-$190 disc).
My vehicle was 4 hours away and I even negotiated for trailer delivery (odometer has 15 miles) so I can break it in properly versus the driver spinning the motor at constant rpm on cruise control at 70mph for 4 hrs (VERY bad for break in). This gives you an idea of how picky I am.
I know my build date is 8/31/13 so as far as I am aware I am past the so far documented radio issues from pre-June 15th builds (may have been Overlands only don't know).
For example, I cannot see in the manuals where there is a cabin air filter. Is there one? I cannot believe there isn't one. My 2002 GC Limited had a spot for one but did not come from factory with one (unbelievable) and I did not notice it in the manual until all kinds of crap had already polluted the air ducts and nestled down in the a/c coils. I see that the 2014 has an "air conditioner filter" so maybe this is it? Believe you me, I will be visually verifying one of these puppies is installed.
Any thoughts anyone has to help me before I seal my fate and sign for delivery acceptance would be appreciated.
I am an eternal optimist (the reason why I am buying another GC after suffering through the "02 GC blend door/brake rotor/etc mess) so I am hoping the reply list is short.
