2014 summit

Hello, I will be purchasing a 2014 summit, it was a lease with only 11k miles.
It's a black v6 4x4 with quadralift, blu ray in the rear seats

Questions-
Is the 19 Harman Kardon® Speakers standard in the 14 Summit?
Also should I purchase extended warranty? All of the gadgets, quadralift and blu ray players, make me nervous that if they fail after 35k miles, will be an expensive repair.

What do you think?
Thank you for any input

Re: 2014 summit

Yes HK audio is standard on Summit. It's hard to say about the warranty, however it being a V6 and the possibility of being an early built model it might be a good idea. They say the transmissions in the V6 models can be hit or miss as far as issues.
Hey if you want to chat drop me a PM I have an almost new '14 Summit V8 2950 miles that I purchased new a few months ago that I would consider selling. It's a very late built '14 that is perfect new condition. I love it but have an itch for either an SRT or the new High Altitude model.

Since its a v6 make sure you throughly test how the transmission shifts, lots of trouble reports on the v6 trans.

Re: 2014 summit

Thank you for the reply. My fear is that it is an early 2014 build.. What should I look for with the transmission?

Mine is an early 2014(march 2013 build) summit v8. I had it back several times the first year for software flashes but all is fine now and no issues i like it very much. Once software flashes were all in place i had no issues. That v6 trans is the biggest thing to make sure is correct before you buy it. Drive it throughly and make sure it up shifts and down shifts properly, it should be smooth up and down like butter. If not make them fix it first dont let them tell you they will fix it after you buy it, if they wont then pass. Very few issues noted here on the v8 trans just make sure to check of the shifting on the v6 throughly on your test drive.

Re: 2014 summit

Everyone has petty much nailed it. The V6 tranny is hit or miss. I have a '15 and plan on getting the extended warranty as well. For roughly $2200 that's 8 yrs peace of mind. Any electronic module or QL problems and the warranty pays off.

QL is covered under the Mopar MaxCare Extended Service Contract. "Everthing" is covered with only a few listed exclusions for wear items.

Yes QL is covered, one of the reasons i bought Maxcare lifetime. I paid 2100 for it, very good deal if you plan on keeping jeep a long time.
