2014 Summit Incentives?

Hi all... BMW guy here who needs some help switching over to Jeep!

I have an M3 that's coming lease end in a month and while it is incredibly fun to drive, having to rent an SUV every time that I go skiing isn't -- it's down right pitiful. I test drove the X5 and hated it, and so I'm considering making the switch over to a Jeep. The problem is that I don't know the first thing about how Jeep deals are structured, and so I was hoping you could all help :-).

For reference, the specific model I want is the JGC Summit 4x4, black on black with the V8 Hemi (MSRP 54,885)...

1. First thing's first -- it looks like the 2015's will be coming out soon and so I'm guessing that dealer's want to move 2014 inventory off their lots. Where's a reasonable place to start negotiation with respect to MSRP? From scanning the forums, I see a lot of talk of deals below invoice, which sounds absurd to me coming from BMW, but what do I know?

2. How do I actually determine the invoice pricing of my build?

3. Anyone know any more details and/or eligibility requirements for the $1,000 V8 bonus cash listed here: National Incentives for military, automobility, summer clearance event & no monthly payment for 90 days program | Jeep

4. Edmunds.com lists a $1,000 "Lease Conquest" incentive but I can't find this on the Jeep site. Anyone know if this is real, and if so if it would apply to BMW?

4. Edmunds also lists a $5k (!!!?) regional independent lease incentive. Anyone know if this applies in the Seattle area?

After seeing all of that I'm left wondering why on earth I've ever given any of my money to the Germans! Any any hints/tips are appreciated.

Thanks...
-Matt

Good choice lol, i have the same one you are looking for. Group buys give you good prices (dc 7% under invoice and i think texas is 5% under) +any new incentives doesnt sound like you are near those but at least gives you an idea of what prices are possible. Get the latest build date you can find but read up on the axle issue thread on some of the 2014s and at least be aware of it. Good luck

No disrespect to anyone, but why is this in the SRT forum?

Nice to hear you are considering Jeep. You should first start at this thread. It will answer about 75% of your questions:

2014 JGC Price Info

or for 2015

2015 JGC Price Info

As for incentives....These vehicles are very popular and throughout the MY we rarely see any decent incentives, if there are any at all. I know they were doing $500 military cash and I think a $1000 V8 rebate.

Lastly, check out the group buys. Texas group buy is at 5.5% below invoice right now. Here is the thread:
Texas Group Buy

I bought a 2014 Altitude at the end of April this year and negotiated to just a little more than 4% below invoice. Not as stellar as the group buys but it is on par with what most of the non group buys are being able to negotiate to.
Can I say "Welcome to Jeep"??

Welcome, I just went through this same exact process after selling my '12 M3 Coupe. I picked up an Overland and couldn't be happier with the decision as the utility of the Jeep was well worth the jump.

For starters, I leased the Jeep and its my first lease. I knew what build I wanted and sent emails to all those dealers that had one. It was an absolute battle to get the price I wanted, but in the end I went from +1% over invoice as my best offer to settling in at 7% under invoice gross of any dealer fees, which in FL equaled $1,100 in total. I did not qualify for any of the rebates so I had to fight to get the best overall price that I could because of that.

I owned 4 BMW's before this and I always had an agreement to buy at invoice +$500 minus any incentives to equal a purchase under invoice every time. The regional lease incentive you see is actually applied to using a lease bank other than Chrysler Capital such as Ally. The trick though is that the MF is much much higher and negates any benefit to that incentive. As for determining the invoice price, look here 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing for the prices with options you want. Good luck, there isn't really anything else out there at least from the Germans that can hold a candle to this price and option wise.

Re: 2014 Summit Incentives?

As a previous poster said, BE SURE TO VERIFY THE BUILD DATE IS AFTER MID-APRIL. I unfortunately leased an Overland built in late March and had a defective axle boot clamp that failed, as have many other people who bought during that period (early March and mid-April). I just got it back after one week in the shop and owning it for only 3 weeks.

As for the switch to Jeep, I also just turned in a BMW 5-series with Xdrive lease and got the JGC. Options and features-wise for the price, you can't beat it. Except for my unfortunate experience with the factory defect, it's a pleasure to drive.

Re: 2014 Summit Incentives?

Leases on the Summit models suck! If your were thinking of a Limited or Laredo you would get a great deal on a lease. Not the Summits though. You are better off buying. I have a 2014 Summit V8. I purchased it in April of this year. I have leased my last 4 vehicles. I was planning on leasing the Jeep but the numbers were horrible. I didn't want to settle for a lower model vehicle. I wanted the best I could get. If the SRT didn't lose it's off road capability I would have gotten that instead. I have great credit. I ended up purchasing it for around $52,000 total (tax/tags included) and financed it at a very low rate which made my payments lower than the cost to lease.
