2014 Summit speaker color different on L and R #2

OK since my original thread was taken over by a different topic and then got closed! I will try again here as the problem still persists. If you care to post here please stay on topic.

So this problem of a different color/style speaker on the left door has still not been corrected by the dealer yet, the second attempt at ordering parts was due in on Friday but apparently didn't make it. I originally approached the dealer about this on 12 September so starting to get a little frustrated. Its not huge deal but one I do want taken care of. I have managed to located a direct contact in the parts order department who I have been communicating with who seems very good and much better than my ignored emails to the general service advisor. Hopefully I will be able to get this solved soon and when I find a part # for this I will post for anyone else that runs into this as my dealer indicated this was not an isolated problem and caused the part to be backordered.

Sorry to hear about your issues with Jeep's shoddy craftsmanship. Jeep QC at its finest.

Even worse to hear is the experience you're having with your GSA. Sure, some may think this is a small issue, but when it happens to any consumer, it's a big deal.

Keep the board apprised on how things unfold; leaning more and more towards to the new GX460 by the day.

Well MD to be honest if I had it to do over I would still but the Jeep because I do like it but I would have waited for the line to run 6 or 7 months to work out some of the early issues. I believe there is good truth to the saying of do not buy the first year of a new model only I don't think you need to wait whole year just give it 6 or 7 months to get the more major issues worked out. Unless I was going to spend an additional 30-40K there really isn't much else Id rather have in this size category.

I am not impressed with Jeep dealership service at all but I guess I should not have expected much after reading about them on here. Going to give the dealer a call this week to see if they have managed to track down this highly elusive part. Will see how it goes

Re: 2014 Summit speaker color different on L and R #2

So just got back from the dealer after having the correct left speaker tweeter installed. All went well with the install they did a good job and it looks good, now silver like the rest instead of black. The parts manager was very good to deal with during the saga cant say that much for the service advisors.

If anyone else runs into this issue the part number is 5SF591SAAA. Dealer said there are more of them out there like this so hopefully this helps someone else as the part number is not listed in their computer and required the dealer to hunt it down with the factory.

One other thing I would mention is the service advisor today was a complete bitch. When she pulled up my vin she said my jeep had 3 RRTs that needed taken care of one to update the radio to 13.19.0, one to update the radio to 13.38.52 and one to remove a raddling bracket on the steering column. I nicely said that none of those needed done and I had already removed the bracket and I had updated my radio software to 13.38.52. She snapped back nastily ITS NOT A SOFTWARE UPDATE ITS AN UPDATE TO THE RADIO AND WE NEED TO DO IT. I just bit my lip from exploding at her and said fine (I have learned over the years that sometimes its best just to say nothing when someone has your car in their possession unless its a dispute over money). So on my receipt in addition to the speaker she had charged Jeep warranty for two software updates and bracket removal turning what would have been a $165 bill into a $266 bill billed back to Jeep. I guess that's the games they play with each other. I am sure if I had been the one paying the bill she would have done the same to me(or tried).

So 2 more items on the bucket list for the dealer, external temperature sensor update when it comes out and next months recall. Then crossing fingers I never need to set foot in the dealership again for anything and I can just enjoy my Jeep without the thought of a dealer visit
