Re: 2014 Summit speaker color different on L and R

I'm glad that worked out! I know having mis-matched in appearance speakers would drive my anal mind absolutely bananas!

These things happen. It reminds me of when I bought my 2002 Grand Cherokee Limited. At that time the Limited models had body color door handles and the larado models had black unpainted door handles. I got it home and noticed I had the limited body color handles on the drivers side and black unpainted on the passenger side. They ordered new handles for the passenger side and replaced them.

Did you guys see the person who got one SRT Tail light and one Non-SRT Tail Light? Funny thing is he didn't even notice for a couple of days.

2mad2bad is on a distinguished road
This is common among the auto industry, when I was purchasing my Audi, another guy was picking up his RS5 coupe, and it didn't have RS5 seats init. It has normal Audi seats this was a big mistake done by factory.. My sales guy said they would just order the seats and fit them in..

When my car finally arrived it didn't have DAB digital radio, which was on the order form and spec sheet, so again dealer had to order parts and have them installed.

This is very common, when you have so many parts coming together there will always be errors at some point, but for the most parts these factories are pretty accurate!

Re: 2014 Summit speaker color different on L and R

Ok so strike one for my first experience with a Jeep service department. They ordered the wrong parts to replace the wrong parts that were installed for the speaker when they built the jeep. Would have been nice if they would have just verified the correct parts had come in instead of dragging me in there and wasting half my day only to tell me at 5:00pm they have the wrong parts. mistakes happen but apparently a speaker was ordered instead of the speaker housing a fairly blatant difference in parts that someone could have checked before calling me in. No apology nothing just someone will call you in 7-10 days.

Also asked to have the misaligned tailgate corrected. Was told that tailgates are non adjustable and that all the ones on their lot were like that and that is just the way they are. Of course I checked another Summit when I was leaving and it was aligned just fine.

I really was hoping for the best for a good first dealer service experience regardless of what I had read on here, I don't know why I expected anything different I really don't. Dealer Service Departments are rotten they are all rotten!!

Back again in a week for round two I cant imagine how that is going to go

Just another perfect example Tony of why I cringe at just the thought of ever taking a vehicle into a dealer service department. I avoid it at all cost and only make the dreaded trip when I must. I just wonder how bad the damage will be that I am going to leave with next week when they start ripping speaker housings out now that I know the level of talent that is at work. Scratched up trim gouged out plastic guess we will have to wait and see.

Woah...I would have been all over them about making up bovine excrement like that! Especially when you just bought a $50 vehicle from them.

Well Jim I am just holding it in now because the jeep has to go right back in next week and I don't want to hand keys over to them right after going on a tirade or I will probably get back a sabotaged vehicle in some way. I am all about honesty and facts so that will all go in the survey.

Not all dealer service departments are bad. I have had a good experience with mine so far. If your concern is all the damage that you speak of why have it done? I think I would just live with the wrong color ring then there is no worry. My tailgate is off very slightly but I only noticed because I read about it on here. I would never have them touch it because I am not having a problem and I don't want to create one.

The problem is, the part you need is not in the parts system yet, they will NOT be able to order the correct part without some legwork via Mopar.
