Thanks but unfortunately the entire assemble on that door frame must be replaced its all one piece which I imagine will not be a small amount to go out and buy so will give them another crack at it in a week.

I think you are correct it does come down to the person or person(s) that happens to be working on your vehicle and in my experience consistently what I get from dealer service is the people don't give a crap. I have been able to establish a good relation with multiple private shops over the years why cant that happen with just 1 just 1 dealership?? At private I pay a fair price I get my car fixed and I go home that's that what a nice concept why does a dealer experience always have to be a back an forth drama that makes your blood want to boil. why such a different work ethic between the two
I understand where JP is going with this as well. The problem is and you said it, for some reason Chrysler dealers seem to have an issues figuring out the customer relationship stuff. There seems to be fewer Chrysler dealers able to provide no nonsense good service and in your area there may be none!

I have a good relationship with mine, and they know what I expect but I see why many Chrysler customers would feel better served by an independent operation. Their service department is the business and they are not spoon fed sales customers... They tend to respect what is required to keep the customer happy. The only limitation there is WiTech but honestly, for maintenance, go with who you trust... If your Chrysler dealer is not one of those that is entirely their fault NOT any of ours

Well Will we will see how it goes the next time around next week but first contact was not so good. I think you are correct about the spoon feeding but instead of embracing that it creates an arrogance of we can act however we want and the customer will just keep coming back because we have the manufactures name and are the best, WRONG. I am a very easy going laid back guy in life but for some reason dealerships bring out the worst in me.

Something else I took note of that was almost eerie to me when I pulled into the service lanes at the dealer on Friday morning was that there was absolutely no other cars there at all and I mean not one. This is a large dealership in a major metropolitan area with huge dual service lanes but I just pulled right in right to the front no other cars anywhere. Just to draw a comparison the manufacturer I came from before Jeep a half mile down the street would be bustling when I drove up at the same time, a dozen service managers standing outside in front of the service lanes with clip boards waiting to write people up as they rolled in so they could get the cars out of the service lanes so more can come in. Somehow I doubt the reason for the empty service lanes Friday was that Jeeps never breakdown and never need to come in for service. Just an observation

Re: 2014 Summit speaker color different on L and R

Just happened upon this thread and wanted to let you know you're not alone- I guess I'm relieved to know I'm not either. Indeed, my 14 Summit came with a black tweeter surround on the left door, trimmed tweeter surround on the right, and even the grill pattern was different. Wow, and here I thought I was the only one!

I believe it has something to do with early builds on the Summit- my build date is 1/7/13. They ran out of parts, figured, hey, no one will notice! Guess again.

I feel ya... I do. I LIVE at the dealership with this thing- if it isn't mismatched trim, it's a crash avoidance system that's trying to kill me, or a misaligned center console, wheel arch moldings falling off, or a locking-up head unit. I've accrued quite the insane list, and by now, it seems Chrysler is intent on buying it back. So the next big question is, with the buyback imminent, do I go with a Durango R/T and save $10k, or a later build WK2? Ahh, open for debate...

In any case, I was FLOORED to see another person with this problem. I am an avid Jeep enthusiast (no doubt Milous can vouch for seeing my username elsewhere since the late 90s), and it positively KILLS me to be going through the hell I am experiencing with this vehicle; I joined this forum expressly to share with you my mutual sentiments.

Don't mistake my comments on Jeep Service to be positive by any means. You are completely correct that the arrogance is unneeded and yes, that ghost town might be a sign that dealer is not an all-star in the service department.

HAHAHA, ok not really that funny, but there had to be 2... So you have SilverMax other tweeter, or it was the same worker who did both

There's my list of woes...

Worth noting, all wheel arch moldings have been redone at least three times already.

Re: 2014 Summit speaker color different on L and R

Yeah, either the same pothead build mine as SilverMaxs' or they're the same production run. Or... I had his part all the long! My God, we're star-crossed.

Oh, I almost forgot the best part!

You know yours "was supposed to come with the black tweeter trim", right? Yeah, only the Canadian and UK versions have the trimmed tweeters.

My dealer had a four week long pissing match with specifiers who INSISTED my tweeter trim was black. The only way mine ended up getting fixed was my dealer tore the part out of another brand new Summit on their lot- lucky me, mine was the first '14 Summit they received, and for a while, their only Summit of reference. Had to steal my grill insert off another on their lot too, because it was on backorder.

Thanks for the post PhatAssW! Glad to know I am not the only one! Normally something like this would not get me to worked up but I really didn't appreciate one of the other posters telling me that I should just live with it that way and belittling it, and alo I have not had a stealer dealer experience with it so far to get it fixed. I think you can probably vouch that it looks far worse to look at it everyday than the pictures can show.

My build was 3/15/13 so we are both early but still 2 months apart. I am willing to bet we are not the only ones just the ones that have noticed it and complained. probably the same bonehead on the assembly line just runs out of one part and stuffs the wrong one in there thinking no one will notice just to get it out the door.

Sorry to hear about all your problems I hope you can get them resolved and if I were you I would go for another Summit. Despite the couple of issues and so far poor dealer service I do love my jeep and do not have any regrets buying it. Just want to get these few build issues cleaned up then I am done with the dealership completely and only back for warranty work.

Overall I was probably one of the lucky ones and only have these couple items

-mismatched wrong speaker- dealer is currently bumbling around trying to correct
-cheap shaky fortera tires- I will replace on my own nickel shortly
-pressed in front bumper sensor - corrected on my own
-quiet introduction of Stop Go ACC few months after I bought- no fix just a gripe that pissed me off as it was never advertised as late availability.
-misaligned tailgate - I don't like it but I am not anal enough on that one to battle the dealer on it so that's just an f it one.

Let us know what happens with the buy back and thanks for letting me know I was not the only one
