As far as your tailgate deal goes, I'd totally bring it in so the dealer can take it to a bodyshop to fix it. I have read about several '14 Durangos with their tailgate improperly aligned and letting water in, also wind noise. I'd fix it.

The FACT of the matter is, you (we) dropped $50-something K on this haphazard thing, you (we) EXPECT some level of quality rivaling a $26k base Laredo model. The headlight thing is a huge point on contention for me. Bad enough my Summit cost was it did, has had both headlights replaced once (at $3k a side!), yet I pull in my dealer lot yesterday morning and see a new SRT with a $69k sticker, headlight housings fogged about 40%. Personally, my $55k bucket has already gotten me TWO warnings from state patrol officers first claiming I was driving with my highbeams on, but upon closer inspection, they both found my headlight fog was causing it (I can't drive with my highbeams on into oncoming traffic anyway!).

Bogus.

I was not in any way being serious... that could only happen with two units one after the other and the part order being out of sync.

With the tailgate thing I did ask them to correct it when I was in for the mismatched speakers on Friday. I was told that tailgates are non adjustable and that all the ones they looked at on their lot were like that and that it is normal(not the case I looked at them when I left). lol whatever the F ok. I have learned in life to pick my battles and that one is just not worth it they will probably end up screwing up the paint or making it leak or whatever now that I understand the talent level there so have decided to drop that one as an F it.

But look at this poor guys tailgate pictures, I hope he does not live in Arizona, a day sitting in 100 degree heat and those taillights will probably expand enough to crack each other when you close that gate they are so close. normal lol oh god I got to go get a beer.

I have heard about those headlights, 3K per side ?! that is insane.

I know I am just saying sadly there are likely more out there like this.

I'll be using the checklist on the next vehicle they swap me into for sure! This was a purchase made when it was dark out- got home, discovered all the nonsense by my garage light. Bought on Friday, in the shop for two weeks by the following Monday.

Re: 2014 Summit speaker color different on L and R

Well spoke to the dealer on this again today, they reordered the parts on 27 sept and they are not in yet. Dealer said I am not the only one with this problem and the parts are now backordered. Imagine that. wonder if its the same guy that's smokin dope and eatin cantaloupe that's messing all of the assembly on the effected ones up. How much you want to bet that when the parts finally do show up they will show up with copper instead of silver trim as they have recently changed over to producing the black interiors that way. we shall see

Re: 2014 Summit speaker color different on L and R

They eventually got it right for me, now there's just the COUNTLESS other issues they still have yet to deal with. I was SUPPOSED to have this bucket of shit bought back, only to receive a call from Impartial Services Group (the company that arranges the buyback) to tell me I'm getting penalized over $3,200 for miles, have to buy something Chrysler in its place that's no less than $1k in sticker cost from my Summit ($54,685 sticker), and that, sorry, no, you (I) won't be getting the same special interest rate you )I) got on my first bucket of shit. So, my solution was to bring it back to the dealer so they can keep tagging on repair costs, repair costs which are already approximately $13k according to invoices, then when I get the haphazard POS back, the "custom bumper stickers" I ordered will have already arrived. More to come...

13k of repairs already !!!??? mother of shit how could something like that make it through inspection to be released?

So what do these custom bumper stickers say?

Hope they can get all the issues fixed for you.

Re: 2014 Summit speaker color different on L and R

Well the invoices are MOSTLY the headlights that fill with condensation (water), then short out, blind oncoming traffic, and/or get me warnings from law enforcement, and are $3k/each to replace. Also the computers that have been replaced repeatedly, the mess of trim exchanges, and the wheel arch moldings that have been replaced/repaired up to four times each.

As for the bumper stickers I plan on covering this with, I am working on finalizing them now with CafePress.com. Here's what I have so far, I plan on each of the six or so that I'll be installing being slightly different one to the next:

1) This 2014 is 'the best of what Jeep is made of', and it spends more time in the shop than my garage.

2) Ask me about my 2014 Grand Cherokee

3) Keep back - vehicle may slam on brakes unexpectedly.

... I'm open to more suggestions. Also looking at starting a website and advertising the URL on a BIG banner on the back window. 'NoGoodJeep.com'
