Dealer has it again right now, out sitting in their parking lot, and I'm driving a base base 2wd Jeep Patriot. Certainly my behemoth car payments justify me driving a glorified Dodge Caliber everywhere, but it IS better than the Dodge Dart they had me in the last two days that kept alarming me of a bulb being burnt out. Yep, brought it to the dealer, they popped the hood, can't find the wire that is supposed to contain the socket and bulb. Another stellar Chrysler product, missing lightbulbs, sockets, and wires of all things.

Re: 2014 Summit speaker color different on L and R

If you want to get back at them, take it in for all repairs, and keep bringing it in. After they shell out more than the car is worth, maybe they will get the hint. Also, get the max care package so you get free car rental. Then tell the local jeep rep what your plans are, and call him every time you bring it in. Let him know your name, and get used to your name. Eventually, he will be so sick of you calling, he might actually do something.

So at this point you couldn't even take the mileage hit and get another Summit because you have surpassed 12k? I would just do that if I were you if you can because you have a true lemon. next one probably wont be that bad.

Re: 2014 Summit speaker color different on L and R

Dude, I can't even replace this thing for the same money! Sticker on mine with the HEMI is $54,685, but they now charge more for the Summit AND charge more for the HEMI, so definitely not apples for apples.

As for draining the coffers, hell yes, I am bringing it in for every little thing from now on. SLIGHTLY crooked PS exhaust tip? Didn't bother me before, but it sure as hell does now.

Here's the list it's in for now:

- PS exhaust tip crooked

- Audio cuts out when streaming BT and you enter 'Controls' menu

- When using BT, backup camera is jumpy and distorted

- 'Paddle shifters currently unavailable' error message

- Trim broken over cargo area hanging on DS

- Ride height control sticking in entry/exit mode

- FR flare coming off again

- Console compartment door scratched from last repair

- New headlights BADLY fogging again, warning from IA State Patrol

- Dust in paint- rear DS door, tailgate

- Adaptive cruise & collision avoidance still trying to kill me

I surmise they didn't have stock on the left ones, so they just stuffed in there whatever they had thinking buyers wouldn't notice.

I also had three other interior trim panels that were the wrong colors.

I would agree with you if the speakers were the only screwup, but when I see all the moldings popping off and the rest of the screwups, it makes me wonder if you got a car that was sabotaged on the assembly line. Maybe the workers were trying to make a point.
If you've been documenting your gripes, wouldn't any reparations be under the 12k limit? Do you have a lawyer?

Have you tried working out something directly with the dealer on a trade for another one?

Yes... And a very good one- his very words "Let's ****in' sue 'em." He's a Super Lawyer, and regarded as among the top five percent in the country among his peers for commercial and general litigation. I've been knocking him down over and over about this because it seemed Chrysler was going to resolve the problem, but having learned on Wednesday that this isn't the case, I'll be seeking other remedy.

Their office has identified over 30 individuals with vehicles like mine, and intend to file class-action suit. I wanted to avoid the circus... Was convinced I could avoid the circus, but it appears the case is otherwise. My God, so many people will crawl out of the woodwork on this, including the guy who I saw start a fistfight at my dealership when they bricked his dashboard, to which he then proceeded to grab the phone of the service manager so he could find his local Chrysler contact.... Police were called, sounds exciting.

It bears repeating, I don't hold the dealer service department accountable in this as they are at the mercy of Chrysler as much as I am, HOWEVER, when they tried to screw me when I asked what they'd give me on trade, the tables turned slightly. Can't even trade it in at a local dealer because they blacklisted my vehicle, so when my local GMC dealer called them for a value on it, they told the GMC dealer about all my troubles. Yay.

I can understand you being upset. You should not have to pay a dime.
