Re: 2014 UConnect

the radio apps (Pandora etc) arent even necessary. Using a USB, plug the phone in, start Pandora, and presto! works great. You can pause and skip using the radio.

The Uconnect service will be using you data plan and you phone (through the uconnect app) anyway so why do we even need an app on the radio?

so far, I see ZERO reason for the fee.

Re: 2014 UConnect

StaticFx,

What type of phone do you have? I can use my bluetooth streaming for Pandora app etc; however, when I plug my phone in through usb (HTC EVO 4G LTE), it starts playing navigation prompts from my phone through the stereo.

I am assuming you must have an iphone?

I have tried to get answers from the dealership and "Corporate" on this issue, but no results. I also have asked here with no results. Thanks for your help!

Matt

Are you concerned that it is not playing music when plugged into the system via USB? That feature is not supported a whole lot across phones.

What you can do is plug it in (for power purposes) and select it in the bluetooth sources under media for the audio. So you don't actually play the music through the USB port but you can charge your phone that way and still listen to streaming via your phone.

Edit: Really only iPods and iPhones truely support the musi play via USB and that comment applies to all Brands, not just Chrysler.... Sometimes other phones and devices will work but an OS upgrade on the phone sometimes will kill that feature (Blackberry anyone?)

The website has been slow for a while now, to the point of it being unprofessional. It is like trying to access someone's homebuilt server in the basement of their house halfway across the world.

I seriously wonder how no one at Chrysler has noticed how slow it is after all this time. Maybe they just aren't serious about qc or the details.

Are you guys referring to the update site or the user interface for your Jeep?

Just to clarify, once you go to moparownerconnect.com, log in using your user name and password and then you will see instantly what we are talking about. It takes forever to load from there on out. After you successfully log in, try clicking on any of the options and you will see it is sooo slow.

Re: 2014 UConnect

That app to lock/unlock and start/stop from your phone at $20/month is crazy. I value that feature to be $2/month. And that's just to show off to my friends. There really isn't any real world practical application for it that's worth paying money for. The Jeep doesn't let you lock your keys in it because of the comfort access and you already have remote start on the FOB. More range on the remote start isn't worth $20/month.

Re: 2014 UConnect

Not saying I support the price, but I have a feeling that they are pricing at $20 a month to match OnStar (https://www.onstar.com/web/portal/planspricing?g=1).

However, OnStar gives 5 years of the "Remotelink" features for free (e.g., unlock the car) on their 2014 vehicles. It is to bad Jeep did not follow suit, and just charge extra for the assist button.

www.gasbuddy.com is a great resource for gas prices. They even have an app that works quickly.

I disagree. As someone that lives in the winter world starting the Jeep when it's 5 degrees outside and I'm waiting for the check at the restaurant where the remote can't reach or in the movie theater when the credits have started will be damn nice. Still not sure it's $20 a month nice though.
