Re: 2014 V6 MPG Thread

EVIC (and some calculations) show 16-19 city (traffic/lights really make a difference) and 20-23 hwy (right foot makes a difference) on a 2014 V6 Overland. Hwy is usually 78-90 mph (closer to 83).

This is with ECO on and regular (short) usage of sport mode (pulling out, quick passing). Also use the paddle shifters from time to time for smoother shifting during passing (less foot needed).

That's about normal... I still prefer manually calculating MPG... the IBM (It's Better Manually) method.

My wife's must be a anomaly, it has been accurate to within 3 to 4 tenths per gallon, sometimes higher than it actually was, sometimes lower. The only tank that was off by more was the 1st tank of gas after a tank of e85,and it was 1 mpg optimistic. For comparison my fusion was always 1.2 to 1.5 mpg optimistic, and my ram is generally 8 to 9 tenths optimistic.

Re: 2014 V6 MPG Thread

I've got 5500 miles on my Overland and I'm getting between 20-21mpg (hand calculated). I've had a couple of tanks slightly over 22 and a couple tanks in the mid 19's. I travel a mix of highway/interstate and city driving of about 50/50. Coming from a Tahoe where I got a consistent 16, I'm very happy. The Overland suffers in city driving but shines on the interstate in my opinion (mpg wise). It's also my opinion that Eco mode sucks for any thought of a smooth ride in city driving; hard down shifts, searching for gears, etc. I also have a Thule rack on my truck that might bring mileage down slightly.

Re: 2014 V6 MPG Thread

I have ~3100 miles and I get 20-21mpg, hwy, when I calc by hand. VIC always shows about 1-2mpg more. 21 is the highest I have ever gotten. I'm still happy tho

Re: 2014 V6 MPG Thread

23-24 hwy (driving around 75) . 16-17 in the city. 3800 miles on the odo, so I'm thinking that when fully broken in I should get maybe 1 mpg higher.

Re: 2014 V6 MPG Thread

Here's one of my average tanks. Mostly highway commuting, but lots of traffic.

Calculated to an average speed of 37MPH.

I'm not sure how relevant MPG numbers are for an average of 37 MPH (at least for me). Real life driving for me doesn't happen at 37 MPH.

Re: 2014 V6 MPG Thread

I have about 5200miles on mine and EVIC says 20.1 overall. Now granted I do stomp on it quite a bit to fire calls (that's how I found the top speed) but happy as it is ALOT better than the 08 Trailblazer I had which was like 13-14mpg
