When you say "I don't quite feel like I'm going to be run over" it's the "don't quite" which concerns me. It sounds like you kinda still do feel like you may be run over.

Have to ever driven in ATL? Just being on the road there is enough to make me feel like I'll be run over. Even in my "sports sedan".

I have to agree. Several years ago I saw a traffic study and Atlanta had the highest average speed for urban interstates in the country. You see more wheel to wheel action and bump drafting on the average morning commute than you do in a weekend at Road Atlanta. Germany's Nurburgring is tame compared to the "Ring" around Atlanta LOL!

The V6 is more than adequate. It is very very good. Kind of like talking about my Camaro SS versus the Camaro RS with the V6. The SS is overkill. The RS is very fun.

I see this the same way.

No I cannot say I have. We have the LIE here on Long Island, not sure if it is the same. Probably not because I never feel like I will be run over in whatever I am driving. I was driving a 2002 Explorer V6 and assume the JGC V6 will crush that in acceleration?

Love the v6 and gear/tranny setup compared to my old 2012. Eco mode is horrid though but I've been learning to use sport mode around town and when merging. Sport mode is totally awesome feel wise.

My wife had a 99 explorer. The 11-13 would get crushed by the Explorer up until about 45 mph. Then it falls on its face as the pentastar is just coming into its power band. The 14 is another story, that tall 1st gear actually makes you feel like you have those 3.73 or 4.10 gears like the Explorer has.

Re: 2014 V6 owners - how do you like it?

'14 Overland V6 here. No complaints, at all!

In almost 14 years of driving, this is the first time I've had something other than a 4 cylinder - A couple Acura Integras, an Acura RSX Type-S, and an '11 VW GTI. So it's certainly new to me. I feel the power is more than sufficient. The 8 speed is great! I'm glad I went V6. The V8 is just too thirty for me. I'm used to 28mpg - I'm getting 16 now . 95% city driving.

Re: 2014 V6 owners - how do you like it?

I am still hoping to hear someone say they love their V6 instead of "it's adequate". Actullay mka18 said loved it compared to 2012 setup, but no flat out love it's.

Re: 2014 V6 owners - how do you like it?

Mine makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Thought about ordering the hemi, but I'm glad I didn't now that I have my V6.

We have a 2012 Passat TDI SEL for the long trips (we get about 43 mpg highway). The '14 Overland with the Hemi will be our go anywhere in any weather vehicle.
