He would get an accurate assessment of the truck and engine in ECO mode though, which some of us do want to know for the fuel economy

Just bumping this thread to see if more members want to chime in. Anyone wish they have had a V8?

Nope... It was been great so far. I responded to a few fire calls in the V6 and it is ALOT better than my V6 Trailbalzer I had. Going over 90 sure doesn't feel like it.

Re: 2014 V6 owners - how do you like it?

I came from a Pontiac G8 GT with a 6litre V8 pushing almost 400hp. So for me, it's taking a little time to get used to the V6 as I can't get up and go like I did in the G8.

But aside from that, compared to my fiance's V6 Jeep Liberty, the 2014 JGC V6 with the 8 speed transmission is leaps and bounds better. Like others have said, the V6 isn't no race car, but it certainly isn't no slouch either.

Now would I rather have a Hemi instead? Of course (who wouldn't want more horsepower)
Would I want to pay an extra 2-3k to get it? No.

For the money difference/savings, the V6 more than does the job. It's offers the best of both worlds, good fuel economy with enough power/feel to keep the ride fun and enjoyable.

I'm happy with it.

kjf18 is on a distinguished road
I'm happy with mine. It is at least as responsive as the Murano I last drove, or the Acadia before that.

Re: 2014 V6 owners - how do you like it?

Very pleased with my 3.6L V6, plenty of power...liking the fact I can run 87 octane, and the 20 mpg average I've seen (when it's not in the shop!).

In fact the first time my fiance drove my new GC Limited 4x4, she couldn't believe how quick it was...and she drives a newer BMW 328iX coupe!

Very happy with my V6. 3600 on the odometer and just finished a 600 mile day trip from MA to NJ and averaged 23.9 mpg. Could have gotten damn near 600 miles to the tank.

As far as power is concerned, it has beat my expectations. Coming from a 5 second 0-60 IS350, I wasn't expecting a 5000 pound powerhouse which would run 9's with Toretto.

I would love a V8...as I'm sure everyone else would too... Just didn't make sense for me.

Re: 2014 V6 owners - how do you like it?

I am very pleased with mine. Great fuel economy on the highway ( 27 mpg @ 70 mph; 29 mpg @ 60 mph) and reasonable fuel economy in city traffic. It moves plenty fast for my expectations (in sports mode) and i also have a car which does 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. I am very pleased.

I wold be happy with those mpg numbers... At 70 we struggled to get 23. At 60 though it showed 28.

Dang F1anatic, those are great numbers. What was your break-in procedure? Did you go by the book and have variable speed/RPM's? Or just drive as normal? I have a theory with the latter method. It's not an educated theory.

Or are you driving down hills with a tailwind?

Al
