Thanks. Somebody on the other forum made a similar post about the Sprint Booster. I live in California and I see it's illegal to sell it here so I wonder how difficult it would be to get one shipped here because of that issue.

Illegal to sell it in CA? The company I purchased it from is in California. You can email or call them to find out.

I think it means they can't sell to residents of CA.

Yep exactly. I was just repeating what's listed on the Amazon product page where it says product is not legal for sale in California or for vehicles registered with the CA DMV. Just a touch ironic that it's made here though...

Re: 2014 vs 2016 pentastar

They newer 2016/2017 Pentastar cuts that difference in half. 0-60mph in 7.1 sec
And increases fuel economy even further.

A noticeable difference is the MPG, also the V6 does much better braking!

I'm not sure the exact parameters (think it just needs to be under factory) but I bought a 2014 last year that was 13-14mos, 18K miles and was still able to get the lifetime max care (from Ziegler).

OP, for the '14 vs '16, if mpg is a big thing for you, I'd probably lean towards the new 2016. My '14 does well on the highway (at highway speeds) but if you're sitting in traffic a lot, you're not going to get anywhere near what you get with the TDI. I'm a low mileage driver (about 500 miles per month) with about an 80/20 highway/city split and I'm averaging 21.25 mpg since I've owned the Jeep (I track every fillup via the Road Trip app). I'm happy with that but it sounds like you might not be.

[Note, I installed skidplates pretty early on which had a negative affect on mpg and a CAI which may or may not have helped offset slightly (all was done around the same time so didn't have good benchmarks for comparison).]

Thanks for correcting me.

I think you can go as high as 48K miles. Price might change though.

Sent from my iPhone using JeepGarage
There is a button to turn off the Auto-start/stop function.

Very true. But it's "per start". The setting doesn't stick when you turn off the vehicle. There is currently no way to disable the feature beyond the "per start".

It's really not that bad. It's smart enough that if it just did a start and you stop again it won't turn off again.

So the complaints with respect to parking don't seem warranted.

Also, at a stop sign (or Right Turn on Red), if I slow down to a crawl it won't shut off. It starts very quick and starts on brake release not on stepping on the gas.

One case that drives me batty though is when pulling into a parking spot, it shuts off when I stop. But then when I put it park it turns back on again. Then I shut it off with the key. I may try hitting the disable just as I approach a parking spot.

Curious what it will do in the Winter when car is still warming the cabin.

IMO, the shut off activates much too quickly. I timed it and it was roughly 2 seconds. 4-5 seconds would make more sense.....appropriate when waiting for a green light, stop-and-go traffic etc...

That kind of programming drives me crazy. With my 14 it seemed I had a checklist of buttons to press before getting started in the morning.
